using compiled fortran in R
...nt Intel-type chip ):
1. g77 -c hello.f
to create hello.o
2. mymachine> R
to start R
3. > dyn.load("hello.o")
at which point I am getting the error msg:
Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) :
unable to load shared library "/home/hawkins/Rfortran/hello.o":
/home/hawkins/Rfortran/hello.o: ELF file's phentsize not the expected
size
Can anyone (please) correct my procedure, offer a suggestion?

What changed in the R Windows interface from v2.6.2 to v2.7.0?

v2.7.0 to cause this problem. I had a look at the CHANGES for R2.7.0 and I
couldn't see anything the instantly could cause this problem.
Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
The ability to launch R from a Fortran application is important for the
usability of the RFortran software library (www.rfortran.org
<http://www.rfortran.org/> ) that we are developing.
