...fies that the ?from? MUST exist but only specifies that the content SHOULD be the source host. (Assuming that Submission is ?an SMTP environment?. RFC 6409 makes some provision for header rewriting to hide machine names. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6409#section-8.8 )

The FROM clause, which MUST be supplied in an SMTP environment,

address of the source, determined from the TCP connection.

Dovecot 2.0+LMTP: Legal MAIL FROM rejected?
Hi,
I run Dovecot 2.0.13 fed by Postfix over LMTP. Today it rejected one
mail Postfix and Amavis accepted, generating a bounce. It was just a
spammail, but I think the sender address is legal according to RFC5321
and should be accepted. I don't like generating bounces, email should be
either rejected by postfix/pre-queue-amavis or delivered.

Not quite.? SMTP is required to treat the "local-part" of the RCPT
argument as case-sensitive, and to preserve case when relaying mail.?
The destination is allowed to treat addresses according to local

Sieve vacation reply problem (Dovecot+Sieve/Sendmail/Horde)
Hello Dovecot community,
I have an annoying problem with successfully activating Sieve vacation replies - on which I have been working hard the last days without success :(
I'm using Dovecot 2.2 + Sendmail + Sieve connected with Horde web-mailer IMP H3 which is generally working fine.
BUT: Whenever I activate vacation script in Horde (via Ingo) and send a test-mail to this account, the mail

Hmm, yes, I think this an unnecessary RFC5322 -> RFC5321 address
translation. Will look at making a fix tomorrow.
Regards,
Stephan.
