Question about pxelinux and gpxelinux
...ux 3.72 package) could support all my NIC (at least 5) in my environment? I guess the gpxelinux.0 use its own PXE BC and call vendor-UNDI from physical PXE ROM, as a result, gpxelinux.0 could support all my NIC(actually, it is supposed to support all NIC which have PXE ROM) Am I right? 2, From rfc5071, pxelinux should request non-standard DHCP option from DHCP server, option 208-211. In my environment, I am using a Microsoft DHCP (Windows 2008). And I tried to set option 67 (boot file name) to publish pxelinux.0 & gpxelinux.0. I used wildpacket(just like Wireshark) to capture the packets btw...

pxelinux magic options 208
..."common"; however version 4.1.1-P1 rejects this syntax, claiming not to recognize "pxelinux" in the first line. The wiki suggests this is good for ISC dhcpd version 3 - is it possible 4.1.1-P1 does not support it? In looking for an answer, I found http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5071 which states that "The option code 208 will be adopted for this purpose and immediately deprecated." It also states "The magic option MAY NOT be implemented, as it has been deprecated." This leaves me quite confused. Is there a way to specify the pxelinux configuration file...

SYSLINUX 3.55-pre1
I have pushed out a SYSLINUX 3.55-pre1. The only difference from 3.54 is that 3.55-pre1 obsoletes the use of the magic cookie option 208, in accordance with RFC 5071 (http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5071.txt). I don't consider this a significant enough change to make another release over, but at least it is out there if people want to experiment with it. I would really like to know if it causes problems in real-life netboot environments. -hpa

Question regarding PXELINUX
Hello, I have a quick question regarding PXELINUX that I can't seem to resolve. I'd like all PXE clients to boot the "default" config, without having to wait for it to try the various mac address and ip configs. Is this at all possible? It takes a good 15 minutes for it to cycle through and timeout before it gets to the default. Thanks very much. Tim

any way to get pxelinux to grab its config file from another host?
I'm using gpxe to chain to pxelinux on a different host than gpxe was loaded from. The chain command looks like this chain tftp://other-host/pxelinux.0 Unfortunately, pxelinux is ignoring other-host and going back to the original host to look for its files. Is there any way to alter this behavior? Thanks, Mike

Custom .c32 module which can send tcp or udp packets
I need to write a custom .c32 module which can send information over to a separated service or tftp deamon. The goal is to send inventory information gathered in pxelinux to be transfered back to the inventory database without booting a kernel or os-image. Is this possible and if so, can you give me a hint how to realise this? Thanks, Daniel

ISOLinux, menu.c32 and PXE handoff?
Hey Folks, Sorry if this has been asked before; hard to get a usable search on 'isolinux OR syslinux pxe-boot' with just the info I need! I work in a large organization, and the group which manages the network may not be the guys managing the hosts. I have a network and dhcp server, and pxelinux is working very well on that net. I want to make my net-install resources available to
