Hi Rowland, I have similar problem with sernet 4.2.4 package: no dns entry created and logs are showing NOTAUTH for dnsupdate Here is my work around: New DC joins domain with: --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ and --server=partnerDC.contoso.com Don't start samba or bind yet !! After that I've to correct some permissions rights on these folders/files (bind can read): - private - dns - dns/* -

Replication problems bdc to pdc
I am not a Linux Guru, so I just learned how to configure dhcpd5 to using static address instead of uninstalling. To avoid any potential problems. It looks the opposite :-). In "/var/lib/samba/private/named.conf" is a line "// If you are just adding zones, please do that in /etc/bind/named.conf.local". I do not use it, I estimate the zone will add samba provisioning. I

New Domain can't connect to localhost
Hai, A quick reply, i was almost out of the office here.. Your config looks ok except one thing. You can try switching the hosts, like this. /etc/nsswitch.conf hosts:????????? files dns mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] I suggest you verify the dns A PTR NS records of the servers. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS_Administration

About reverse zone in the dns
Hi By not appearing as zone by default in the integrated dns to samba 4 (BIND9_DLZ), is then added manually and it works perfectly; to join a second domain controller and perform the relevant steps are added the second domain controller as in the reverse zone is not the same as NS. How do I add it? cd1.abc.cu and cd2.abc.cu In the direct zone in the dns Name server (NS) cd1.abc.cu Name server
