This is bit of a longshot, but can you try applying https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/63a74b9.patch and see if this helps? I have no idea why it's returning invalid argument, maybe you need to raise this as issue with glibc? ...er? We already use rsync on a number of other Windows boxes for general file backup. I've read that even if you get backups of the Exchange mailbox files, then it's really tricky to get the mailboxes back into Exchange if the server dies. Anyone got any tips on this?
