When you re-boot, Shorewall is started with the "-f" (fast) option. This
means that if there is a restore file generated by a "shorewall save"
command (as given by the RESTOREFILE setting in shorewall.conf) then
Shorewall is restored from that file using iptables-restore rather than
by parsing all of the config files and running iptables 100s (or 1000s)
of times.
After you have done a "save", each time that you make a configuration
change that you want to be p...

oh, that step means you won't be able to recover ANY of the data that
was formerly on that PV.

Wrong PV UUID
Dear All,
I have one VG with one LV inside consist of four disk (and four PV) somehow
the UUID is changed. I try to restore with the last known good
configuration and use
pvcreate --uuid xxx --restorefile xxx
but I think when I first time do it I did use wrong UUID for two device.
but haven't only using command above and haven't used vgcfgrestore. After
carefully read the configuration, using hdparm to know device serial number
I think I have assign the right UUID for each device. I succesf...

B) During "shorewall [re]start", shorewall will restore the ipset
contents from the file specified in RESTOREFILE

RESTOREFILE=standard in shorewall.conf then your ipset contents will
be restored from /var/lib/shorewall/standard-ipsets.

Samba and different IPs
Hello,
is it possible to configure Shorewall for different network
environments? I am using it on a single Linux computer. When I am at
home, I am using an internal IP address (192.168.0.X), and when I am
using my cable modem, I get an internet IP assigned. I now want to be
able to use Samba/Windows Filesharing when at home and to disable it
when I am using my computer directly on the net.

"Multiple Internet Connections" with four interfaces
Hi,
I was reading document http://shorewall.net/MultiISP.html#idp3634200.
Inspired by the document I was trying to establish the following changes:
* one additional interface: COMA_IF
* COM[A,B,C]_IF interfaces request IP address via DHCP
* all non-RFC 1918 destined trafic is NATed from INT_IF to COMA_IF
* all non-RFC 1918 destined trafic from GW is routed via COMB_IF by default
* non-RFC 1918

norfc1918 not working in SW 2.2.1?
Hello all,
Yesterday I noticed that my system was "leaking" traffic towards the
10/8 network, I have shorewall installed on multiple machines ranging
from single interface devices to ones with 10+ interfaces. I tested all
the boxes and they are showing the same behavior.
All systems are CentOS 3.4, 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp.
Shorewall version: 2.2.1
For the host mentioned is a single
