Dovecot ldap connection reconnecting after inactivity
Hi people, I have a setup configured using ldap, I have noticed that after a
period of user inactivity if a client open connections to dovecot first
attemps fails with this:

ldap(user at xxx.xx.xx,172.29.13.26):

[Bug 127] PAM with ssh authentication and pam_krb5 doesn't work properly
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127
------- Additional Comments From djm at mindrot.org 2003-01-07 17:13 -------
This fix is incorrect - the creds (which are often supplemental groups) need to
be restablished after initgroups(), which we call elsewhere.
Does the PAM module not support restablishing credentials?

Question about "nss_ldap: could not get LDAP result - Can't contact LDAP server" error
Hello
We have a OpenLDAP-2.2.23 + Samba 3.0.14a and the system is logging a lot (one to each minute, more or less) of errors like this:
server smbd[10799]: [ID 510469 daemon.error] nss_ldap: could not get LDAP result - Can't contact LDAP server
Well, I would like to ask to samba specialists if is possible that the problem is this slapd.conf option:
idletimeout 30

Problem going back to a viewport with gridBase
I am setting up base plots -- one in viewport A and and one in B. This part
works fine. But if I go back to A after having done B and add
horizontal lines it seems
to not use the correct coordinates. How do I tell it to resume using A's
coordinates? I am already using par(fig = gridFIG()) but it seems that that's
not enough to reestablish them. What happens is that when I go back to

Upgrade/migrate, lost workstation trusts
Same physical computer, I performed a fresh and much newer o/s installation (slackware to debian). Samba was v3.5x, moved to the newest stable debian version. Backend is ldap. Testparm is fine. Moved old secrets.tdb, etc, to the appropriate new locations (old system disk is both completely backed up as well as still physically available to me, so I have all files from the old server). Ldap is

ActiveRecord and refreshing column info
Let''s say I want to find out what column names exist in two tables,
table_a and table_b.
One way I''ve been doing this is using ActiveRecord and the column info
it returns. After establishing a connection for ActiveRecord, I do the
following:
ActiveRecord::Base.set_table_name("table_a")
column_names_a = ActiveRecord::Base.column_names

date conversions in pastecs
In function daystoyears in package pastecs, I get this (wrong?) result
with 1995:
> daystoyears(1,datemin="1/1/1997",dateformat="m/d/Y")
1997.001
> daystoyears(1,datemin="1/1/1995",dateformat="m/d/Y")
1994.999
Any insights?
Thanks

Mail forwarding on a dynamic IP address.
I have a Cyrus installation with postfix and openXchange. I get the mails
from catchall account with procmail and distribute with the mail server. Now
I have a new site office where couples of staff members are going to be
relocated.
Since we have only an ADSL line on site office if there any way I could
forward the mails for these staff members to another Mail Server with
dynamic IP address?

vfat / ftruncate problem
...n an ftruncate, the server just sits there 90 seconds or so grinding and grinding then I guess something times out and either Samba drops the connection to the Win98SE client or Win98SE drops it itself, Win98SE gives an error for the copy that the resource is no longer available, but the connection restablishes itself right away then, but the copy attempt has been aborted.
I think its the same type of deal copying smaller files to the Samba shared vfat partition that does work except there is a long pause before the copy really gets going, I think Samba is doing the fallocate deal and it just takes quite...

smtp over ssh probs

mailing list, but no answer has came back. also, I'm not subscribed to
this list, so please cc me the answers. now, to business.
I have a problem but I don't know exactly what. Or why, better. The
scheme is like this: I don't have a direct connection to the inet,
except for ssh to certain range of ip's at a
