domU consoles
Hi
I have a couple of questions:
1. How do I exist from a domU console back to dom0 console (after
issuing xm console [domU])?
2. How do I setup a dom0/domU in order to get a tty login?
TIA
Paolo

Xen 4.0 - No console prompt after booting domU but functional SSH
Hello xen-users !
I am coming for help concerning the just released 4.0 version. Install has
worked rather well on my Debian Lenny. I have just had a few bugs for which
I have found the answer looking around on this list.
I have created a Debian Lenny domU which boots up just fine. The only
problem is that I am unable to get a console prompt when using "xm console
nameofdomU". I do see

Opensuse 10.3 does not charge dom0
I decided to upgrade from openSuse 10.2 to openSuse 10.3. I installed xen things, but when I boot using xen option the system is blocked. It appears the green window, with little suse logo in the middle, and mouse cursor, but the system crashes.
My computer is a Pentium 4 1,5 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.
I attached "diff boot.msg boot.omsg" (as diff opensuse-normal-kernel opensuse-xen-kernel)

respawning dead tinc process
...ious routers and linux cloud servers. On one of the cloud servers, under Ubuntu 12.04, tinc is mysteriously dying once in a while, leaving a dangling PID. I have been unable to track down why it is dying, but it happens infrequently enough that I care less about why it is dying than how to robustly respawn it when it dies.
Before I re-invent the wheel, has anyone come up with a solution for automatically detecting a dead tincd and respawning the process on linux?

inittab - huh what's it good for?
...d hylafax server with external serial modems. We
are transitioning to an Asterisk system using IAXmodem running on
CentOS-6.
On the CentOS-5 system to start the fax modems we added these lines to
inittab:
# Add fax lines and always ALWAYS run "telinit q" after making a change.
fax1:2345:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS0
fax2:2345:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS1
On the CentOS-6 host we did this, in accordance with the instructions
provided in the various README files and man pages.
# send
IA00:2345:respawn:/usr/bin/iaxmodem ttyIAX0
# receive

respawning dead tinc process
I?ve been having the same issue with Ubuntu, thankfully we have access to Upstart:
```
start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE!=lo)
stop on stopping network-services
author "Mark Lopez"
description "Tinc Upstart Job"
version "0.1"
env network=master
respawn
exec /usr/sbin/tincd -n "$network" -D --debug=3 --logfile
```
I removed the default init script and switched over to Upstart. Restarts will occur as soon as the process dies. Save the job as ?/etc/init/tinc.conf?.

INIT: Id "x0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
Hello,
I''m running a SLES10 SP1 Server as a Dom0 and as DomU.
I have allocated 1024 Mb RAM to the DomU and one virtual processor (physical processor is a dual core Intel Xeon 3.4 Ghz).
A warning is regularly displayed on the standard output :
INIT: Id "x0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
Any idea where that come from ?
Thanks in advance.

Launching X-Windows at different runelvels
Hi all,
I need to launch X-Windows at runlevel 4 and 5. CentOS only start up x-windows
at runlevel by default. I have modified /etc/inittab to accomplish this:
x:4:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon
x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon
But this returns errors every time that start and stop system ... Which is the
correct form to launch x-windows under centos at different runlevels??
Many thanks.
