Microsoft .NET Framework Redistributable Package
Has anyone sucessfully installed and execute the Microsoft .NET Runtime under WINE? If not, is it even possible? I would be willing to even run the system in Win95/WinNT compatibility should it be necessary. Crosstabbing multiple response data
Using R version 2.4.1 (2006-12-18) on Windows, I have a dataset which resembles this: id att1 att2 att3 1 1 1 0 2 1 0 0 3 0 1 1 4 1 1 1 ratings <- data.frame(id = c(1,2,3,4), att1 = c(1,1,0,1), att2 = c(1,0,0,1), att3 = c(0,1,1,1)) I would like to get a cross tab of counts of co-ocurrence, which...

samba 2.2.7 & MIT Kerberos 1.2.6
Hi, I'm new to this list so I apologise if this has been asked before. I'm trying to compile samba 2.2.7 with kerberos support. I have MIT Kerberos 1.2.6 installed and working as a KDC but when I samba wont compile with --with-krb5 configure works ok and finds the kerberos install but when I do a make I get this error on linking smbd: /usr/local/lib/libkadm5srv.so: undefined reference

[LLVMdev] dragon egg + llvm for fortran to c translation
Thank you for your reply Dmitry! It would not be too great a deal, if I need to use previous versions as long as it would get the desired results :) Would the code from the IR be portable to different C compilers? I guess the resulting C code will not have too much resemblance to the input? cheers Philipp On 03/01/2013 05:02 PM, Dmitry Mikushin wrote: > DragonEgg only converts GCC's IR

[LLVMdev] dragon egg + llvm for fortran to c translation
Hi Philipp, Let me provide you with an example back from September 2011. Attached is original Fortran source, optimized LLVM IR and what we regenerated back into C from LLVM IR by means of C backend. As you can see, the C code closely resembles LLVM IR. I don't know what you intend to use it for (maybe some source-to-source compiler or DSL?), but to our experience, we had a system using C backend, but dropped it in favor of native LLVM backend for the target architecture (NVPTX in our case). Source-to-sourcing is generally very painf...

R-Package for Recursive Partitioning without Classification or Regression
...al.Width, data = iris) which implies building a model. However, I would like to split data like clustering similar to decision tree methods, because I have nothing to predict. My question is: Is there a package, which I can use to partition my data without classification or regression so that it resembles clustering methods? Thanks and regards, Dirk

Backing up and restoring maildir folders
...dovecot-uidlist dovecot-uidvalidity dovecot-uidvalidity.59206030 .Drafts/ new/ .Sent/ subscriptions tmp/ .Trash/ Is it good enough to simply stop dovecot and tar this folder, and others like it, and copy them back to a similar location on the new installation? I haven't yet seen anything that resembles an official or standardized backup/recovery method for dovecot. With thanks and appreciation, Tim Legg

Detecting DoS attacks via SIP
Hi all, Lately, I've seen an increase in the number of attacks against my system from the so-called "Friendly Scanner." When one of these script kiddies targets my server, all I see for symptoms is a few of my trunks become lagged due to server load and a stream of messages on the console that resemble this: [Aug 2 20:27:50] == Using SIP VIDEO CoS mark 6 [Aug 2 20:27:50] ==

Installing rails without gems
After reading the article about rails in OnLamp, I''ve decided to give it a try. In many way it resembles a product that I used to work several years ago, but based on Tcl. So I this might just be what a Pythonier as me needs to try out Ruby. :) Now the problem is, right now the computer where I want to play around with rails doesn''t have net access. I already downloaded the packages availabl...

Weird Excel Time Format
I have a 10-column XLS file, with 2 date fields. As far as I can tell, they were configured identically in Excel 2010. One of these fields resembles "39406.577662037", whilst in Excel, it is shown as "2007-11-20 13:42:20". Applying as.Date() with the default format doesn't do it. Any ideas as to what format this is? irregular time-series
I make quite a lot of use of irregular time-series, and had already spent a bit of time writing an 'its' class when the 'irts' class was released via the package 'tseries'. I have experimented with the 'irts' class, and have some practical issues with its use. In some applications of irregular time-series (in my case these are financial and econometric) there are

RIDE-ME
I know these forums are typically for questions and such, but I thought some of you may be interested in this... For the past couple months I''ve been working on a Windows based IDE for Rails development in my spare time. It closely resembles Visual Studio in many respects, so if you''re a former ASP .NET developer like me, you''ll feel right at home. RIDE-ME is still in the early stages of development, but I''m using it every day to create a large Rails app, and it''s working great. Check it out at:...

Return code for running stories
Hi all! Just wrote a few stories and committed code to a project of mine, then realized I made a mistake (with the commit, not the code or tests). It would be nice to put the script that runs the stories as a pre-commit hook, preventing the commit from succeeding if the stories fail. For that, I need to set the right exit code. In turn, I need to know he result of the tests. Given the

APC Back UPS?
...- either it is actual Ethernet (usually found on an add-on UPS SNMP monitoring card, where the jack typically has two status LEDs, one on either side of the notch for the modular plug tab) that needs to go to another Ethernet jack on a NIC or a switch, or it is a proprietary APC cable that vaguely resembles an Ethernet cable on one end. (I was incorrect when I said 8P8C before - MGE uses 8P8C modular jacks for similar USB/serial proprietary cables.) > > It might be this 10-pin modular connector: http://pinoutguide.com/UPS/apc_usb_cable_pinout.shtml <http://pinoutguide.com/UPS/apc_usb_cable_p...

CVE-2015-0235 - glibc gethostbyname
...Exim on C6 ? >> > > upstream references: > https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2015-0092.html When I read this I read that it is fixed in glibc-2.12-1.149.el6_6.5.src.rpm (RHEL 6), on my CentOS 6 I have according to " rpm -qi glibc": glibc-2.12-1.149.el6_6.4.src.rpm (which resembles what is latest on public mirror I maintain, and I checked randomly a couple of other mirrors - the same). If I read numbers correctly, we all are one minor (very minor ;-) number behind RHEL. > https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2015-0235 > > Note that in the openwall.com URL...
