res_config
Hello,
I am just getting started with res_config and ODBC. I have MySQL all
setup and am filling it with my data. Everything seems very straight
forward. One thing catches me so far:
1) How are register lines in sip.conf and iax.conf represented?
i.e. register=> username:password@fwd.pulver.com/700
insert into ast_config (filename,cate...

Asterisk configuration from database with res_config
I want to let Asterisk read its configuration from a mysql database. I
configured everything according to the wiki page:
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+res_config.
However it doesn't work. I am using 1.0.8 asterisk version and here are
my config files:
Extconfig.conf:
[settings]
;uncomment to load queues.conf via the db engine.
;queues.conf => odbc,mysql1,ast_config
;extensions.conf => odbc,mysql1,ast_config
sip.conf => odbc,mysql1,ast_conf...

troubles with getting odbc to load data
Hi
I'm using asterisk 1.0.3_1 from the freebsd ports.
Everything works ok, except I can's get res_config to populate sip.conf
(or any other conf file for that matter).
my unixodbc works and I can access the database with the isql tool. There
are no warnings or anything else in the asterisk log file indicating a
problem.
I have used the guide from http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+res_config.

Still stuck trying to make Asterisk read MySQL
...tried to leave voicemail for extension (and
mailbox) 1111. Here's the message I get:
*CLI> Feb 11 13:21:36 WARNING[18393]:
app_voicemail.c:1539 leave_voicemail: No entry in
voicemail config file for '1111'
So I dug around some more and found
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+res_config
Decided to try these instructions as well. So:

Here is the data:

Asterisk billing solution
Hello.
I am looking for a simple Asterisk billing solution. I expect about
50-100 users (a mix of IAX and SIP) through 3-5 outgoing providers (all
IAX).
I need something that can handle monthly fees and per call charges
(depending on destination, obviously), and should provide a web
interface for customers and administrators.
Something that can tie in to one of the existing management GUIs

cvs stable with db support in extensions.conf
Hi,
I use cvs stable version. I'd like to add database support on
extensions.conf. Other config files into db would be a big bonus. Looking
through the wiki, there are several ways... but not sure which one is the
best or widely used and supported...
ast_data and res_config seem to be the best candidates. I read it many times
and my impression is that ast_data seems to be better. But can't find a
patch for latest cvs stable.
Any suggestion?
Thanks,
Richard
