externhost and reregister
externhost is monitoring for ip changes with an interval of externrefresh, so far so good. Wouldnt it be handy if asterisk would do an sip reregister if it detects an ip change? My SIP provider has sometimes very high intervals of 1 hour and if ip changes, the registration doesnt work until it expires or asterisk is restarted or sip reload. Or just everyone uses fixed ip addresses? For now, seem to have to use a script with sip reload.

Unable to reregister samba server with Primary Domain Controller
Please forgive any stupidity in the following question. The admin who maintained samba left recently and we (a bunch of programmers) are trying to fix it. We had a Solaris box called svr2, it provided samba and nfs services. We bought a new computer called originally newsvr2. We ported the samba settings across to newsvr2 - everything worked. We swapped the hostname and IP addresses of svr2 and

Asterisk Unregisteres IAX Friend Randomly
Hi, I've been having a strange problem recently where real-time asterisk will unregister a IAX friend at random times when the registration should not have expired. I have a Zoiper soft phone client (on windows) connecting to asterisk over a LAN (no firewalls). The default reregister time of 60 seconds is used, but the asterisk server unregisters the client (sets regseconds to 0 in the database) after a seemingly random time after registration say, 15 seconds (which is 45 seconds before registration expiry) I set iax2 debug on, and set the core debug level to 5 so I could se...

Xenbus watch firing over and over
hi, I am trying to add xenbus watch support to mini-os, but am getting into a endless loop of watches firing over and over. Below is an excerpt from the xenstore tracefile: IN 0x805acc8 20070103 19:32:18 WATCH (/local/domain/0/backend/vif/26/0/state 00043818 ) CREATE watch 0x805a8b8 OUT 0x805acc8 20070103 19:32:18 WATCH (OK ) OUT 0x805acc8 20070103 19:32:18 WATCH_EVENT

Odd WINS Problem
I've been having an odd problem with nmbd and WINS. We have two WINS servers running on NT4.0, and eight solaris machines running samba (2.0.7). Every so often, it appears that WINS loses its db entry for the samba machines. If I stop and restart nmbd, the samba machine reregisters with WINS and all is good. The problem is very sporadic, and doesn't seem to affect all of the machines. We've seen this problem since around the 2.0.4 days. We upgrade with each release hoping to fix the problem. Any ideas? Thanks, --Brian

Unhandled exception with regsvr32
I've more-or-less successfully installed IE6 under 20050111. It works fine but PNG's don't display, so I tried reregistering the pngfilt dll: wine regsvr32 c:\\windows\\system\\pngfilt.dll wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger... Usage: winedbg [--auto] [--gdb] cmdline (not sure why the debugger doesn't start properly. I did have debugging enabled when I configured...) I get the same resu...

Xenstore restart
Hi, I am using xen-4.1-testing with Linux 3.4.3. The hotplug script xencommons echoes that xenstore is not restartable. Can anyone tell me the exact reason why it is not restartable. I tried to restart xenstore by killing the xenstore and restarting it with xencommons but after that VM creation doesn''t work. I used to do the same with the setting <xen-3.4+Linux-2.6.18> and it used

asterisk optimalization
hi, i'm testing asterisk 1.4/1.2 in the following scenario centos5/cpu quad xeon E5335 2.0Ghz - test clients behind nat - 1500+ testing instances - reregister option from 1min to 1hour - qualify set to 5000 top shows over 100% cpu. cpu cores sometimes go to 95% with htop i see ~16threads but only one child have ~95% cpu (how i can get info about that thread? what he is doing?) what is major bottleneck? qualify imho not. i'm tried set qualify=no,...

release open_disk error
...on another KVM host. So in fact the disks are still in use, bot got cleaned up by the other KVM host because it thought they were not longer in use... Several questions: 1. Could this indicate a problem with the lease of these resources on the server that host these guests? 2. Is there a way to reregister these resources, because they are still in use (but not for sanlock it seems)? 3. Overall, is it a bad idea to run virt-sanlock-cleanup? Source-IP on Asterisk DRBD/-HA-Cluster wrong
Hi all, I installed a Linux-HA-cluster with DRBD and Asterisk 1.4 on it. Actually it might work quite good, failover etc. works, even if this is not a 0-downtime solution, because current calls are dropped and the phones not are reachable until they reregister at the Asterisk. It "might" work good, because my phones are not able to register at the cluster-ip address, because the REGISTER arrives at the cluster-ip, while Asterisk responds from the real host-ip of the active cluster-node. The registration with the real ip works, but then I ca...

Sip module and dns
...) saying that It could be a dns issue. Well today I had a problem again with sip module and it really seams a dns issue. I have an asterisk, version 1.4.26.1, that has 4 bri access and two sip trunks. I'm having internet access problems and when this happens and if one of the trunks tries to reregister its panic time!!! All the sip peers goes unreachable, trunks and phones, and the sip module "freezes", sip reload takes many many time to act. My solution is to remove the sip trunks from the configuration. But why this happens? Why If there is no dns resolution of the trunks sip mod...

pjsip: occasional sip_transactio Unable to register REGISTER transaction (key exists)
...R transaction (key exists) Nothing more. The third REGISTER package works as expected. What's going on: My phone regularly (each 7.5 minutes) sends REGISTER. Sometimes, those REGISTERs are denied like seen above (mostly already the second REGISTER works and no third REGISTER is needed). The reRegistering of the phone normally works like this (as seen in wireshark): -> REGISTER 06:04:19:285 <- 401 Unauthorized 06:04:19:287 -> REGISTER 06:04:19:316 <- 200 OK 06:04:19:376 If warnings happen like the one mentioned above, the following can be seen in wireshark: -> REGI...

call replicating
...invites and qualify requests are sent to all the registrations and there the problem lies. I am thinking of how could asterisk prevent such situations. 1. I think it should send unregistration requests on shutdown. 2. I think it should keep the database of active registrations and unregister and reregister all of them during startup in case some of them remain active after unclean shutdown. Also probably provider side should be fixed? Thanks for your insight. Marek 2020-06-05 19:29 GMT+02:00, Doug Lytle <support at drdos.info>: > On 6/5/20 12:24 PM, Marek Greško wrote: >> How ca...

...evices if the host= parameter is not set to 'dynamic' in sip.conf. I want calls to these extensions to be routable even before the device registers. I understand that is what defaultip= is supposed to do, but it doesn't work. I get a busy tone when dialing the extension until the phone reregisters. Here is what the entry looks like for a Cisco7960: [cisco] type=friend username=cisco secret=supersecret host=dynamic defaultip=192.168.0.55 canreinvite=no ; Cisco poops on reinvite sometimes qualify=200 ; Qualify peer is no more than 200ms away context=loc...

Which brings me to the third problem (directly related to a phone reregistering). After a fresh reboot, if I reboot all phones before any calls get parked, all phones work properly (for an hour anyway). However, if I reboot a phone *after* a calls been placed on hold, the hints do not work f...

Trust relationship lost in 2.2.1a repeatedly !
Hi All, I have been using samba 2.2.1a as the PDC, as a logon server for about 100 machines. Till now it has been fine, But for last 2 days all of sudden the trust relationship is lost from few random machines. Then we again have to reregister with SAMBA domain. When first time one m/c logins these are the logs. ############## [2002/10/24 09:58:55, 0] rpc_server/srv_lsa.c:api_lsa_open_policy2(47) api_lsa_open_policy2: unable to unmarshall LSA_Q_OPEN_POL2. devicestate / inuse issue with 1.4.21.1
...spa941_0027 does have an active call starting at 11:39:37 - it does get marked as busy (because of call limit) - thats correct. At 11:45:18 there was a sip reload - the user object gets destroyed - but the peer object not - so the busy level is still correct. Than at 11:46:39 the sip phone does reregister at the system - and the system does change the peer to be marked as not in use - from this point things are going wrong.... So i think the way to reproduce is - "active call" -> "sip reload", "reregister", "not in use state" I have to verify this to...

G.729 licensing - Hardware Devices rather than software
...registrations etc, etc. Is there no reason why the decoding can't be done in with some Asterisk compatible hardware, so that once the adapter is bought, all licensing issues go away. In that way the owner could fiddle with the installation to his hearts content, without having to bother about reregistering licenses after some changes. It would save both Digium and end users a lot of hassle. ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
