Newbie question - Rails without database
Hello to all,
I am entirely new to Ruby and also to Ruby on Rails. As far as I understand,
Rails builds its model according to the a specified table structuree in in the
database.
However, most of my applications, are for the most part (except some backend
CRUD stuff) not database centric. They do a lot of calculation for the user.
So, how can I create a model, when no database is needed,

Upload to DB hang mentioned in wiki
I''m uploading files to a mysql database, using a mediumblob size.
Following the wiki here:
http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/HowtoUploadFiles ,
I got past the first mysql 500kb limitation with the max_allowed_packet = xM

However, as the person at the very bottom of the wiki notes, I too cannot
upload more than around 10mb.

Debugging a new app ?
Hello
I'm new to wine-users. I'had often used wine with known-working apps, but now I
try to launch Future Pinball (a pinball simulation), see
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=4596.
As it's not work, I search docs on how to debug an app.
My first try is to check that all dll requierd is present in wine (or I'll try
to add them):
I've profiling it on windows xp with Dependancy Walker, so I have dll loads and
calls. Unfortunatly, it's doesn't run (in profiling mode) under dependancy
walker in wine.
Is there a list of all dll builtin in wine, natives present with...

Problem with tcp_wrappers
...just found little bug in OpenSSH's tcp_wrappers handling.
In file sshd.c you can find:
if (!hosts_access(&req)) {
close(sock_in);
close(sock_out);
refuse(&req);
}
If username was not requierd for authorization (for example
you are refusing all connection from specific host) refuse will
return "sshd: refused connect from root at some.host.name".
This happend becouse user name is checked by eval_client()
from refuse() when the connection is allready closed by the:...

Logging file access
Hello everyone.
I have a Samba-Server and want to know who creates or deletes files in a
Samba-Connection. Is it possible to log this information? The log-files
I have only contain information about opening and closing files.
I would also prefer to log the IP-addresses instead of the
Samba-usernames, when files are opened, closed, created or deleted. Is
this possible?
Thanks for your help,
