samba dns
...ll then be authoritative for the AD domain and will then forward > anything it doesn't know to your unbound machine. Or vice versa. Point unbound at the AD DNS server for lookups to internal.domain.tld, and let it continue handle other lookups as it already does. There's no need to repoint clients to AD DNS servers if you don't want dynamic DNS registration.

Centos 3.8 Server Questions, SeaMonkey Mozilla and Java
In order to run a certain software package that runs as a java applet I had to install Centos 3.8 on a 32-bit server. After installation I upgraded the installation using yum after repointing the configuration file to vault.centos.org. This worked fine, however, I still have to resolve two problems: - I'd would like to make the EPEL repository available but have not been able to find if old EPEL software packages are stored somewhere else for non-supported versions of CentOS? - I...

Debugging TLS Retry Handshake errors
.../20 times the bind will fail for perhaps 10 seconds. During this time, the logs read (for each failure): [2018/09/26 11:05:52.824630, 1] ../source4/lib/tls/tls_tstream.c:1439(tstream_tls_retry_handshake) TLS ../source4/lib/tls/tls_tstream.c:1439 - A TLS fatal alert has been received. I've repointed authentication to a single server (instead of using DNS round robin that apparently didn't work -- different issue), and manually spammed auth tests, which is how I was able to grab the above errors. And by manually, that's by clicking the "test authentication button", so no mo...

Mix/match C8 crypto policies
...nment requires a LEGACY setting for OpenSSL so we can maintain connections with our LDAP servers (which we cannot update at this time), but I'd like especially the OpenSSH settings to use the DEFAULT policy (and maybe even FUTURE on a test host or two). I think it's possible to manually repoint the symbolic links in /etc/crypto-policies/back-ends to achieve that result, and I'll set up puppet rules if that's the only way to do so, but I'd prefer to use a more canonical approach if one exists. -- Paul Heinlein heinlein at madboa.com 45?38' N, 122?6' W

IE 9 not sending digest auth info
I migrated our internal wiki server last week, and some IE users aren't able to authenticate. The service is hosted by Apache using Digest authentication. It migrated from Apache 2.2.9 (Debian 5) to Apache 2.2.15 (CentOS 6). The internal hostname for the wiki server is a DNS CNAME that was repointed from one host to another during the cutover. In a normal session, 1. Client sends GET 2. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 3. Client sends GET with Authorization header 4. Server sends 200 with Authentication-Info header and page content When using IE 9 (and possibly 8, I'm sti...

Best way to upgrade from 1.0a4 to 1.0a5
Hello all, I have 1.0 Alpha 4. Is it better to shut down sendmail, uninstall dovecot 1.0a4 then install 1.0a5, or just install 1.0a5 over the top of 1.0a4? Thanks, Cliff

Fwd: Samba4 as AD server
...I have delegated NS records for that subdomain to the two servers that are running Samba (using the Samba internal DNS server). My understanding, although this was not covered explicitly in any of the docs that I found, was that this would be sufficient for DNS purposes so that I would not have to repoint my workstation to use those servers directly for DNS resolution; the requests for anything under that subdomain will get properly routed there instead by the normal internet DNS architecture. However, I am unable to join the domain. Looking at the logs, I don't see anything going on. I tried j...

[LLVMdev] Proposal: stack/context switching within a thread
...frames. Still, it would be nice to support this use case. Kenneth, I don't want to insist that the first version of this be both a floor wax _and_ a dessert topping, but is there a natural extension to supporting what Stackless needs that we could add later? It looks like swapcontext() simply repoints the stack pointer and restores the registers, while Stackless wants it to be able to allocate memory and copy the stack. Maybe that implies a "mode" argument? Alternately, Stackless could probably work with a segmented stack mechanism like Ian Taylor implemented in gcc for Go. Do you se...

DID failover
I'm setting up an asterisk server where an administrator will not always be available in case of problems. While I expect problems to be rare, I need to be prepared. We're thinking of VoIP DID's and SIP phones so it's an all TCP/IP network. We could get a second server to substitute - What is involved in 'transferring' or 're- registering' the DID

Supporting WinImage compressed images
I am using PXELINUX, ISOLINUX, and memdisk in my project (http://unattended.sourceforge.net/). When memdisk gained support for compressed images, I started using it because it is cool. I used gzip to compress floppy.img to create floppy.imz, and all was good. But now my users are complaining that they cannot use WinImage (a Windows floppy image editing tool) to edit my floppy.imz files. I have
