Java and compiz
Hi,
I know this is know thing about the java windows being blank. I
also kinda guess that it is not a priority to get it fixed to a lot of
you ppl. So, I'm here to help! :) It's really pain to be using Xnest and
all those to work with java-swing development, and I'd like to see this
fixed.
There was nothing of this in the archives, so whats the plan?

Im trying to write a Windowmaker look-a-like decorator to compiz, tho, im
not really sure im doing it the right way, The way im doing it right now is
telling libdecorator that i?m interested in becoming the "manager" of the
current screen. Then i select the StructureNotify events on the root window
and try to snoop out when a new window is created and mapped, and then

grid's viewports
Hello!
There is something wrong with nested viewports in grid package (I have
tested it in R-1.8.0, may be it is different in other versions). Here is
an simple example of a feature which seems strange to me:
x11()
rec<-T
push.viewport(viewport(xscale=c(-10,10),yscale=c(-10,10),gp=gpar(col="magenta")),recording=rec)
#Parent viewport with scales -10:10

cow by default?
Hi David,
--use-cow seems to be quite stable on all variations of tfp (xgl, aiglx,
nvidia), I think it was the plan to default-enable it. Do you think it's
ready for that? Want a patch?

Aurorae for Compiz
Hi Compiz Devs,
as you might know I started about a year ago to implement a new theme engine
for KWin called Aurorae. It is a SVG/Pixmap based engine. The theme format is
SVG as soon as the SVG get's resized a pixmap is created and put into KDE's
pixmap cache. This makes painting very fast while resizing kind of slow (not
an issue with KWin as resizing is already slow ;-)), but at

window drawing problems in my plugin
Hello
I'm writing a compiz plugin that mimics the WindowMaker dock, but instead
just being in 2d, I have cubes where icons and dockapps (actually any
application) are rendered too.
Now I'm wondering how can i hide the "real windows" that i dock and keep the
decorator from drawing decorations on them?
Since i need to get damage-events on the windows i assume i cant just unmap

A few minor bugfixes, another point release.
* Fix tracking of DRI pixmaps and their backing bo across reparenting. If
we tried to execute a SwapBuffers after a Window was reparented, but
before the DRI client has updated its references, then we would end up
manipulating an exported pixmap without a flush flag set. In the worst

[ANNOUNCE] Compiz feature branch compiz++
Hi,
I've currently pushed a new branch called "compiz++" to the freedesktop
repository, with some features I've been working on during last months.
Because most of the features also require (BIG) changes to the plugins, I've
decided to put them all together.
- No direct access to member variables: Everything is now done with getter and
setter functions. This helps with

How to have more than on SELinux context on a directory
> If I understand well, I could add a type to another type?!?!?!
No.
The default targeted policy is mostly about Type Enforcement. Quote from
the manual:
"All files and processes are labeled with a type: types define a SELinux
domain for processes and a SELinux type for files. SELinux policy rules
define how types access each other, whether it be a domain accessing a
type, or a

Using tun interface with dladm and flowadm
Hello,
I am a rather new user to OpenSolaris and I have been loving every minute of
it. I have spent quite a lot of time looking around for bandwidth management
features and Project Crossbow is just amazing. It is truly amazing compared
to what Linux has to offer.
I would like to use flowadm to do some bandwidth management on a tun
interface. The problem is that it is not recognized by the dladm

Antw: Log analysis
Hi Geoff,
The streaming version of Webalizer can certainly do this (hmm, I can't seem to find the link anymore, it used to be on a separate website, not awstats.sf.net) and I use it for my clients.
See my post from September 2004 regarding correct logging of SOURCE time.

Wine refusing to create a configuration directory there
...mgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/
with the special PATH commands after MacPorts
then a more streamlined way
http://computechtips.com/install-wine-mac-lion
without any PATH terminal fiddling.
Either way ends up in the same mistake.
All this may be created by a permissions issue on my Mac; I tried reparing permissions of course, to no avail...
Any help, hint, or pointer would be deeply appreciated. I am not a very compeent user, and know probably way not enough about the structure of permissions. But Installing Wine seemed, and was straightforward the first time out, and I can't figure out what...

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.19.7
This is a maintenance release for X.Org X Server 1.19 series.
My personal motivation for this release is to fix EXA 24 bpp crash
bug that affects SiS 6326 based graphics card, but there are other
small fixes of the code contributed by other people.
If your OS distribution uses X Server 1.19, please contact the vendor
to let them know that upgraded code is now available.
