Problem with REMAINDER? 957%60 be 15 remainder 57 not 15 remainder -3 ?
I'm not mathematically gifted, but shouldn't 957%60 be 15 remainder 57? Google and my desktop calculator certainly think so. So where am I going wrong here? Hi Hameeza, Aside from Ashutosh's patch..... When the vector width is that large, we can't keep vectorizing remainder like below. It'll be a huge code size if nothing else ---- hitting ITLB miss because of this is very bad, for example. After analyzing verbose nouveau & drm dmesg, I have found seemingly no more useful details pertaining to having no TV-1 device. Vectorizing remainder loop
Hello, I m working on a hardware with very large vector width till v2048. Now when I vectorize using llvm default vectorizer maximum 2047 iterations are scalar remainder loop. These are not vectorized by llvm which increases the cost. However these should be vectorized using next available vector width I.e v1024, v512, v256, v128, v64, v32, v16, v8, v4..... [PATCH] file_checksum() optimization
When a whole-file checksum is performed, hashing was done in 64 byte blocks, causing overhead and limiting performance. Testing showed the performance improvement to go up quickly going from 64 to 512 bytes, with diminishing returns above, 4096 was where it seemed to plateau for me. Thanks for looking into this. 1) Issues with re running vectorizer: Vectorizer might generate redundant alias checks while vectorizing epilog loop. Redundant alias checks are expensive, we like to reuse the results of already computed alias checks. With metadata we can limit the width of epilog loop, but not sure about reusing alias check result. Any thoughts on rerunning vectorizer with reusing
