Can I create a mirror for a root rpool?
On Solaris 10 If I install using ZFS root on only one drive is there a way to add another drive as a mirror later? Sorry if this was discussed already. I searched the archives and couldn''t find the answer. Thank you.

Failing WD desktop drive in mirror, how to identify?
I have a desktop system with 2 ZFS mirrors. One drive in one mirror is starting to produce read errors and slowing things down dramatically. I detached it and the system is running fine. I can''t tell which drive it is though! The error message and format command let me know which pair the bad drive is in, but I don''t know how to get any more info than that like the serial number

Multiple overrides in one entry
Another override question: Is it possible to specify multiple overrides using a list/array? For example: User[games, baduser] { ensure => absent } I''ve tried various syntax manipulations, but nothing seems to work. "xpdrows.data.frame" (PR#131)
This is a follow-up to bug sent to days ago, which bounced from r-devel because the example was to large. Now example is smaller, and behaviour is as belo, EXEPT that r-windows not any more bombs, so main problem is "xpdrows.data.frame"??? By the way, how to debug this example under windows? debug() doesnt accept the functions used (.Primitive), and R wont run under gdb --- may have

Ideas about learning
I''m looking for some ideas about how to learn how to use puppet. One of my main concerns is dorking up the machine I''m testing it on. For this I''m using a VM. So that concern is mainly taken care of. If some of you experienced puppet users where going to do it all over, what parts would you try to learn first? I have successfully been able to get a cronjob added

mbox vs maildir debate (was re: subject concerning binc imap, even though my original message never touched on it or maildir)
Tried sending this message with the original topic On Mon, 17 Feb 2003, Andreas Aardal Hanssen wrote: > Hi, Ian. Vulnerability in Elm-ME+
Hello, I have confirmed that the recently-reported vulnerability in Elm is also present in Elm-ME+ and thus also in Debian GNU/Linux version 1.2, prerelease version 1.3, and development tree "unstable". Below is a short diff to correct the problem. Debian GNU/Linux 1.2.x uses stock Elm 2.4pl25. Users of that version of Elm should upgrade to Elm-ME+ as detailed below. Debian 1.3

Massive alias / bulk delivery problem
Yes you are right, i realized that just after i sent the email, that it was a bit in haste. anyway, if there is anyway how to optimize dovecot for effective delivery of 20k+ emails within a few minutes, id be glad to know. .. and i will have to ask the same q at postfix mailinglists gnd/ On 7/14/20 8:12 PM, John Stoffel wrote: > > gnd> we are experimenting with using Dovecot as part

0.22.0 Errata: Facts are not downcased
I forgot to mention this in my announcement yesterday. Puppet facts are no longer downcased in the language, and string comparisons now default to being case-insensitive. Where your operating system might previously have been ''solaris'' or ''debian'', it is now ''Solaris'' or ''Debian''. However, you can still do comparisons

Question on 4k sectors
Hi. Is the problem with ZFS supporting 4k sectors or is the problem mixing 512 byte and 4k sector disks in one pool, or something else? I have seen alot of discussion on the 4k issue but I haven''t understood what the actual problem ZFS has with 4k sectors is. It''s getting harder and harder to find large disks with 512 byte sectors so what should we do? TIA...

What is your data error rate?
After having read this mailing list for a little while, I get the impression that there are at least some people who regularly experience on-disk corruption that ZFS should be able to report and handle. I?ve been running a raidz1 on three 1TB consumer disks for approx. 2 years now (about 90% full), and I scrub the pool every 3-4 weeks and have never had a single error. From the oft-quoted 10^14

Creating client certificates
I testing Puppet 0.19.3. If we decide to use it, we''d deploy it across several thousand hosts. The method described for creating client certificates described in the documentation - running "puppetd --server <server> --waitforcert 60 --test" and "puppetca --sign <client>" - is not practical for our installation. I''ve tried creating
