Have the expanded rcorder behaviour merged to RELENG_5?
Hello, I saw in the Porters Handbook this OSVERSION macro: 6.0-STABLE after incorporating scripts from the local_startup directories into the base rcorder(8) <http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=rcorder&sektion=8>. 600101 I think that change has been merged to the RELENG_5 branch but I1m not sure. If so, could somebody tell me what is the corresponding OSVERSION for RELENG_5? And if it has been merged, this should be also listed in the Porters Handbook. Thanks, Gabor Kovesdan

FreeBSD5 make world fails
Hi! I've installed FreeBSD5 (i386). I've synced src tree via cvsup (RELENG_5) and tried to build world. But in the process I got the following error: /usr/src/secure/lib/libcrypto/i386/des-586.s:2363:33: warning: null character(s) ignored {standard input}:2367: Error: invalid character '=' in operand 1 *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src/secure/lib/libcrypto. *** Er...

ypwhich -m
...some search, I think it is include/rpcsvc/yp_prot.h revision 1.13 done by peter@ (CC'ed). As far as I can tell, ypwhich -m is also broken on 5.4 and 5.5-PRERELEASE. I have tested that revision on a 5.5-PRERELEASE machine, it fixes ypwhich -m. I would like to see this MFC'ed to RELENG_6 and RELENG_5, so the newer releases will have this fixed. Thanks, Rong-En Fan

re driver trobles (RELENG_5)
Dear colleagues, experimenting with new amd64-based router we found strange re(4) behaviour when working in autoselect media mode: whenever promisc mode turned on, renegotiating occurs, leading to 3 to 45 (depending on STP settings on the switch) network unavailability. Moreover, some other re(4) setting changes seem to disturb link state unneededly (such as ifconfig re0 -vlanhwtag) The most

MegaRAID lockups under 5.5 PRELEASE
...branded MegaRAID controller installed. The cards both have battery backed cache. The servers form a 2-node Slony cluster for PostgreSQL, with each node having a single RAID5 array consisting of 3 live disks with a hot standby disk. About a week ago we upgraded FreeBSD on both boxes from a point on RELENG_5 (1 July 2005) to 5.5-PRERELEASE and now one of the boxes has started behaving badly. In the space of two days we've had about half a dozen occurrences of random processes blocking and rendering the machine unusable. 'top' shows the stricken processes in state 'ffsfsn' and they...

Removing ZERO_COPY_SOCKETS from kernel config resolved problem. And I've found same diagnostic with same causes in freebsd-current@ m...

Is the "tcp time stamp validation issue" fixed in 5.4?
Hello I'm a bit confused about the "tcp time stamp validation bug" mentioned in the http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/637934 advisory. FreeBSD has fixed this issue in -current (2005-04-10) and in RELENG_5 (2005-04-19). Is this also already fixed in 5.4? The CVS ID for tcp_input.c does not look like this. But I'm not sure.
