Has anyone heard of an OS X tun/tap driver which could work on 32 bits

"Exclude" test fails on OS X (i386 Darwin 8.10.1)
Version 3.0.0cvs protocol version 30.PR4
Capabilities:
64-bit files, 32-bit inums, 32-bit timestamps, 64-bit long ints,
socketpairs, hardlinks, symlinks, IPv6, batchfiles, inplace,
append, no ACLs, xattrs, iconv
The exclude test fails on OS X Darwin Kernel Version 8.10.1
RELEASE_I386. It just hangs there until CTL-C. The same test passes on
the G4 PPC Darwin 8.10.0, and on i686 Xeon (Slackware 12 in a
Parallels VM on the Intel Darwin 8.10.1)).
The log file looks like this:

Off topic: Tcl/Tk outside R.
...hint as to why it doesn't work when the the
executable
script is invoked directly (from tcsh)? Other than the fact that I'm
using a Mac :-) .
[Invoking unname -a gives ``Darwin TURNER-ROLF.local 8.11.1 Darwin
Kernel
Version 8.11.1: Wed Oct 10 18:23:28 PDT 2007; root:xnu-792.25.20~1/

The Tcl/Tk software, from what I can glean, appears to be version 8.4
(???).
Thanks for any insights.
cheers,
Rolf Turner

Backgroundrb-devel Digest, Vol 9, Issue 1
Hi Bill,
I have "version 1" backgroundrb running on my development server with
rails 1.2.1, with no issues (other than the left over DB connections
blocking up my MySQL server, which isn''t exactly a new problem).
Going to move production servers to rails 1.2.1 very soon, I''ll post
back if there''s any trouble.
Still would *really* like to get version

Java Bindings on a Mac
I had to make some changes (sorry no diff available) to "configure" in
0.9.9 of the bindings so that I could compile them for OS X 10.4.8.
Essentially I replaced the the paths to jni.h with
/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Headers. It compiled
without error and created both libxapian_jni.so and xapian_jni.jar in
the "built" subdirectory when I ran "make

One possible cause for incorrect symbols in X11() output
There have been spasmodic reports of symbols such as pi and infinity
in plotmath being reproduced incorrectly on the X11 device on some
Linux systems (at least Ubuntu 10 and Fedora 12/13), and we've managed
to track down one cause whilst investigating PR#14355.
Some systems have Wine and hence the Wine symbol font installed.
'fontconfig', which is used by cairographics in
