NEWS: SIP Firmware Available for Cisco 7970
...th the release of v8 firmware for all Cisco phones (and
for those of you running Sergio's chan_sccp v8 works fine)
The firmware is now also (and for the 7970 SIP, only) distributed in
".cop" files, these are actually just tarballs (.tar.gz) with a new
name. The names are mangled, but relativly easy to figure out.
Please note that I will not give this firmware out, nor point people to
places where they may pirate it.
Thanks,
Julien

oggenc of wav file loses one second at end of track.. why?
Hi,
I recently noticed that a relativly short wav file
loses the last second (truncated perhaps) when I ran
it through oggenc. Originally the wav was 25 seconds,
the ogg is 24 seconds.
This happens at various quality levels, and I saved
several copys of the file on a webserver at
http://array26.rockefeller.edu/www/ogg/

changing text direction of mtext
Hello,
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the text direction of mtext?
I'd like to use 'mtext(side=2)' but the text should be 'left-to-right'.
I couldn't find an argument for that in the help files.
Thanks for any suggestions
Tobias

Traffic shaper based on UIDs
Hello!
I need assistance to solve my problem related to traffic shaping based on
the user ids.
The problem: each unix user (of the linux host) has to be limited with
incoming channel (internet) bandwidth. I need this to implement
internet access solution based on ltsp (http://www.ltsp.org).
As far as I know the best way to shape traffic in linux is CBQ.
But there is no filter based on unix

[LLVMdev] m68k backend
I have a few weeks of downtime between jobs coming up and I was considering
trying to put together a m68k backend for LLVM. I have some experience with
compiler front ends; I've maintained a couple of DSL implementations in the
past, but I have relativly little knowledge of code generation. I know that
there have been a few attempts in the past, but I cannot find any evidence
that they made it very far.
I wanted to ask the LLVM community if there was a working m68k backend. I
don't want to spend too much effort replicating others work.

listening folder and directories on ftp server
Dear List,
I'm looking for a function for listening of the content witin a ftp server. I need to list bevor I download a file becaus I don't know the exat names of a file or dirs. Up to now I'm using the "getURL" function from RCurl package. But it relativly often happens that I get a errorcode 550 an I'm not able to get the information. If I put the very same adress to a browser I get te content, so the connection is working.
Thanks in advance Matteo

multiuser rsync environment
Dear List,
I am looking for a solution of the following issue.
We are two users managing our homepage through subversion
in order to synchronize each others work.
We upload everything to the server via the following command in rsync:

Everything works just fine except

How do I make rsync ignore unreadable files (damaged sectors)?
Lately I've working on a backup script that utilize rsync together with
MySQL logging. Everything has been working just fine until now when I needed
to generate some errors for my error handling code.
So I took a CD (which I scratched with a needle) and mounted it to the file
system. There after I started the backup job which went on forever and never
got completed. It seems that rsync

Noob, installing rails on a goDaddy virtual server?
Hi,
I''m completely new to all of this. Not even certain this is an
appropriate forum for an installation question.
I''m just about to plunk down some money to get a virtual server. In
looking over the list of isp''s elsewhere on this site, goDaddy isn''t
mentioned - probably because they don''t offer rails as a standard
distribution. There are some
