[PATCH] virtio-net: Read MAC only after initializing MSI-X
The MAC of a virtio-net device is located at the first field of the device specific header. This header is located at offset 20 if the device doesn't support MSI-X or offset 24 if it does. Current code in virtnet_probe() used to probe the MAC before checking for MSI-X, which means that the read was always made from offset 20 regardless of whether MSI-X in enabled or not. This patch moves the

[PATCH net-next] virtio-net: don't do header check for dodgy gso packets
There's no need to do header check for virito-net since: - Host set dodgy for all gso packets from guest and check the header. - Host should prepare for all kinds of evil packets from guest, since malicious guest can send any kinds of packet. So this patch sets NETIF_F_GSO_ROBUST for virtio-net to skip the check. Cc: Rusty Russell <rusty at rustcorp.com.au> Cc: Michael S. Tsirkin

[PATCH 1/3] virtio: fix virtio_net xmit of freed skb bug
If we fail to transmit a packet, we assume the queue is full and put the skb into last_xmit_skb. However, if more space frees up before we xmit it, we loop, and the result can be transmitting the same skb twice. Fix is simple: set skb to NULL if we've used it in some way, and check before sending. Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty at rustcorp.com.au> --- drivers/net/virtio_net.c |

[PATCH 06/18] lib82596: move DMA allocation into the callers of i82596_probe

[PATCH net-next] virtio_net: add ethtool support for set and get of settings
From: Nikolay Aleksandrov <nikolay at cumulusnetworks.com> This patch allows the user to set and retrieve speed and duplex of the virtio_net device via ethtool. Having this functionality is very helpful for simulating different environments and also enables the virtio_net device to participate in operations where proper speed and duplex are required (e.g. currently bonding lacp mode

[PATCH] net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone. This does that. Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything.
