Refiltering mails without loosing flags
Hello, is there a way to refilter all mails in a folder without loosing all flags and moving all messages in a different folder? I have >10k mails in my Inbox and need to create new filterrules from time to time. But there is no way to refilter my inbox without moving. Refilter Mailboxes via Sieve - Missing delivered-to header
Hello, i already read http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail but it won't work here :( I have many old mails in my folders and need to refilter many of them. But there are many mails without a delivered-to-header. What can i do? Error: Configuration error: envelope_recipient specified header missing (delivered-to:1) Would be okay if getmail would just skip the mail, but it cancels.

Using getmail with sieve
...aildir.) 1) From the docs I gather that Dovecot sieve will not work as mail is loaded by getmail and I need to refilter the email after it has been loaded with getmail, right? 2) In http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail it says, "This HOWTO helps you create a folder for mail that needs refiltering..." But contrary to the doc I don't see any actual instructions about creating said folder. The HOWTO assumes mail already exists in a folder called "REFILTER' but doesn't say how this folder was populated. "How to?" 3) As a test I manually created the "REFILTE...

Redelivery of messages in Maildir through sieve to be re-sorted
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail That solution looks great for a single user, but is it possible to do a larger version that runs for everyone on the server? I'm speaking specifically of a virtual setup where all mailboxes are owned by a common UID/GID. It seems like (with brief testing) that I could search for mail inside of a "Refilter" folder, like

Dovecot namespace solved while writing; preparing to refilter
...covering the setup for namespace that worked for me. How I used maildirmake (it's the maildrop's not the dovecot's one) I thought but now see doesn't probably have much to do with the solution for namespace I found. I leave it there though, because I need to fix the mailbox by refiltering it, with the aid of the dovecot server, similar to how it is explained in: http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail Because I got some syntax wrong in ~/.mailfiler for the maildrop MDA, and then I got some of those wrongly named (numbered, no a-z, only 0-9 digits in names) fake mailing-list f...

Re-sieve emails
Is it possible to take the contents of a mailbox and feed them to the account's .active_sieve file for reprocessing? (For example, when editing the sieve file for my list account I introduced a typo, so a hundred or some list messages ended up in the inbox instead of filed properly into the maildir hierarchy. Not a huge deal, as it was simple enough to move them manually, but it got me

Can I take mail from Maildir mailbox and deliver it as new?
Hello list, I have a need for someone to point me in the right direction. Our old email system (system A) had an account that acted as a mailing list accumulator/archiver. This account was a member of every list and mail would be sent to it's address. The strange part is that email was not delivered to system A because there was a . (dot) forward alias to another machine (system B) that

processing Dovecot maildirs with shell scripts
Hello, I have a postfix server which uses procmail as its delivery agent to deliver incoming messages to several maildirs. For several reasons, not really relevant here, I need to process/refilter/sort again the content of these mailboxes before delivering the messages to the _other_ maildirs which Dovecot sees and serves to local or remote imap users. Basically, I need to write some shell

sieve filter not working
Hi, I have a question. I have dovecot 2.0.9 running on a CentOS 6.6 email server for a small department, ~15 users. amavis and postfix are also enabled. It appears that amavis invokes spamassassin, which tags incoming spam email. All email is then put into users local inbox directory, regardless of spam tag X-Spam_Flag value of YES or NO. I want instead to redirect spam to a special directory.
