Superimposing vector polygons over raster grid in a plot
...otting grids/images with axes and
annotation.
The big question is, how do I incorporate a Spatial(Points or
Polygons)DataFrame into the spplot display list?
It seems as though many scientists would like to create such plots
without resorting to GRASS or
another GIS.
Thanks for any advice,

OT: List of VoIP providers?
...have not found a good
listing.
Is there no "yellow pages" for VoIP providers? Google mostly returns
services
like Vonage, Packet8, NuFone, ect. None seam to be very reseller
friendly and
none offer LNP or local DID's for my area. Anyone know of a list (even a
partial one)

exposing id''d
I have been working on a small app that started with some scaffolding.
Some of my actions still have the structure where the id''s of things are
passed on the url for gets.
Whats the best way to avoid the security problems that this creates?
I am sure that there are many pages written on this topic but I guess I
have been searching for the wrong things.
Thanks

Linux installation
...rch on Google proved fruitless and I was forced
to ask on r-help. I am now kicking myself, of course, but wouldn't it be
a useful addition to the R installation FAQs, especially for those not
acquainted with the C compiler output?
Thanks,

access networked PCs directories/files with R ?
Dear group,
I would like to know if there is an "easy" way to access several
networked PCs directories/files from one PC with R ?
Concerned OS is windows.
I can for instance use dir() on my current PC.
Is there a way to do dir() on a connected PC ?
(Is there a special syntax for the path ?)
(read.table() or readLines() work with URLs

I have it compiled and it sees my phone, but paring fails every time, which
I think is due to the utils package. All that to ask does anyone have this
chan working on CentOS 4? If so can you help me through this?

Parked calls and the # key
I am perplexed by this so I how someone can help me out.
On one of my servers the users began complaining that if they picked up a
parked call they could not use the # key to transfer the call. This is a
particualarly annoying issue since everyone has been taught to use #700 to
park calls. At first I thought it was a DTMF issue with the polycom phones,
since rebooting seemed to fix the problem.

bwlimit on rsync locally
Does "bwlimit" option really work on rsync locally? We have one type
of harddisk and want to slow down rsync I/O on disk because I don't
want the disk head gets too hot. While I'm trying to use --bwlimit
option, it looks the rsync speed was slowed down, but iostat is not
improved at all. In both case the block written speed is increased by
the same amount.
How could I really

I'm trying to add ooh323c to my asterisk 1.2.7.1 install and did an svn

make: rpath: Command not found
make: [libchan_h323.la] Error 127 (ignored)
I'm not real sure what to try to fix
