Reestablishing trust with PDC
I often change configurations in a home server environment, and have scripts to back up all config files etc. - on a fresh OS install I can quickly restore function of all the services I'm running. I'm using version 3.4.7 as a PDC on Ubuntu with 4 Windows 7 clients. I can restore smb.conf which gets the file shares and server configuration back, but I lose the trust relationship with the

Very long establishment time for secondary connections
Hello, I'm currently on Dovecot 1.1.17 and I have a user that runs into a problem quite a lot. She's using Thunderbird on a Mac. When she sends mail, Thunderbird is set up to save sent mail to her Sent folder. Often (usually when she has not sent another mail for a long while) when she sends mail, Thunderbird sits there saying "Copying message to Sent folder" for about thirty

Asterisk with Internet connectivity
...coming calls per SIP. Recently the IP connectivity for this location was down the whole telephony was down too - not even incoming calls did work. This is really strange as incoming calls from PSTN are routed directly to the PBX without any IP needed, ISDN to ISDN. Once the IP connectivity was reestablished everything worked fine again. So I wonder what could be the reason that Asterisk blocked all the telephony. thanks klaus

openvpn restart fails with dual entry in conntrack and wrong sourceport
the establishment of an openvpn link sometimes fails. I tracked it down to network traffic with wrong Sourceport in the answer packet (should be 1300 not 1024): 2 1.119309000 aaa.185.165 bbb.162.192 UDP 58 Source port: 1300 Destination port: 1300 3 1.119446000 bbb.162.192 aaa.185.165 UDP 66 Source port: 1024 Destination port: 1300 and a collateral entry in the connection tracking table

share persistence problem
After awhile, my connections from my PC to my samba server end up with a red "X" in them (share disappeared) if I leave my explorer window open. If I click on these, they "wake up" and continue to function (and the red X's go away). If I close my explorer window (while the red X's are there) and reopen it , they are gone. An attempt to reestablish these

RedHat 7.3 smbmount
Hello, I have a RedHat 7.3 workstation and have created a samba mount to my samba server. Everything seems to be working ok, but when I reboot my RH workstation the mount is not reestablished. I believe the problem is that when I reboot the machine the samba share is not unmounted. After rebooting the machine when I run smbstatus on the samba server it indicates the mount is still active. Samba version 2.2.5 Service uid gid pid machine -----------------------------...

Initial connection after reboot is sluggish
We have an SCO server running samba with the config file below. It is in the domain and users connect to shares on it without any issues. The SCO server is rebooted nightly. The problem is that we have a box that has a mapped drive connection which automatically deposits attachment files to the rmomin share from Outlook (using CaSaveAtt) and it fails on placing its first attachment to the

<VM LIVE Migration> <Sync conntrack entries>
...IVE migrations. It is required when the firewall is implemented at the host level like libvirt's "network filters". If stateful firewall is enabled, then unless these connection tracking entries are synchronised, all the connections to the VM are lost and all TCP connections should be reestablished. Is there any option already available? I don't think current libvirt hooks are helpful, as VM pause in the source hypervisor and VM on in the destination hypervisor is done by QEMU and it does not wait for any application that needs to sync-up some metadata — In my case, it is conntrack entrie...

Passing a password from a program to ssh
Hi all Probably this question was asked before, but I didn't find anything in the FAQ or in the archives. I've written an programm that connects to a SSH server and communicate over the SSH protocol with a SSH subsystem. SSH now shows a prompt where the password should be typed in. If an error occurs (protocol error or so) the programm must reconnect to the server and reestablish

Trust does not work anymore after upgrade to 3.4.9
Hi, I did upgrade from samba 3.0.28b to 3.4.9. Now the trust does not work anymore. When we try to reestablish the trust, we get an error: ldapmaster:/etc/openldap/schema # net rpc trustdom establish BIO Enter EVAN$'s password: Could not connect to server HEINBLOED Storing password for trusted domain failed. Google does not really help and logfiles (loglevl 10) do not tell me what is wrong.

ASTCC speaks and cut RTP channel
...iable and number-to-dial as EXTEN variable). The issue, a great one, is that when the credit is about one minute to end, the ASTCC prompt gets into the call, says that "you have one minute left..." and when it was suppose to leave and let the RTP traffic of the original call be "reestablished", it never happens. The RTP packets - I could see that at asterisk debug screen - stop running and the call is still signaled as active, but no media at all. This is a serious problem I?m having and, as I could see, I?m not the only one. Mr. Chilini reported that around jun 30th this year...

OSX 10.6 Clients on a 3.4.11 Server
...the end of my rope regarding this problem. I've tried tweaking various server side configuration options for oplocking, etc and have made 0 headway. One funny thing that I did notice is that, as a test, I shutdown Samba, deleted the lock tdb file, and restarted samba. As soon as the client reestablished it's connection with the server all the old locks (displayed using smbstatus) were put back in to place (I'm talking about something like 100 or so locks, some as old as 2 days). It looks like the client is requesting the locks on the folders for some reason. I'm 95% sure that this...
