CentOS for ARM
Hi guys, I recently became aware that this is being worked on as of recently. A similar thing already exists, though. Those interested in an ARM port may also be interested in taking a look at RedSleeve Linux, which is an ARM port of the same upstream distribution as CentOS. You can look here for more info: http://www.redsleeve.org/about/ http://www.redsleeve.org/ In total 109 SRPMs had to be modified in order to get them to build and work on ARM. They are in SRPMS/changed directory on the Re...

Some questions
...build my own Samba server. And I have a few questions. All of my servers will be ARM. The main hardware will be Cubieboards (2 and truck). They will be running Centos-7 once the development is finished. For now I am using Fedora 22 arm. My backup file server will be a pogoplug (armv5) with Redsleeve 7.1. My current environment is ClearOS with a handful of XP systems with roaming profiles. Of course this is an Intel server. So on to some questions... I am reading an old how to I pulled a year? ago: WIP_Beginner HowTo - SOHO business server - SambaWiki.html And it says IPv6 not supporte...

A set of questions before building a new server
...hrough a number of incarnations (NT, Win2000, Samba2/3) and use of someone elses packaging. This time I want to use as direct-to-Samba as I can. All I want with this server is to be a Samba server to Windows (and maybe Linux) machines. I have new hardware, an armv7 board that I can run either Redsleeve 6 (Centos 6 arm port) that has Samba3 or Fedora 21 that has Samba4. I have new XP systems (updated with 'SP4' and right now standalone) ready to use this server. I will have to migrate 2 of the old systems. The new server can be on a new subnet with a new rfc1918 network address. I...

Help on setting up a samba domain controller
My current samba domain controller is running ClearOS. But I am migrating to ARM servers (cubieboards) and using RedSleeve for now, and Centos7arm when that gets rolling. The driver is power savings; my ROI just on power is ~15months. So I only run an NT style Domain Controller with XP clients and roaming user profiles. It works, as there are only a few systems here are really just my wife and I. But it is nic...

Centos 6 - disabling IPv6 addressing
Sorry - that should be sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.accept_ra=0 to disable that, not 1. Centos 6 - disabling IPv6 addressing
No change after running this and trying both: system network restart ifdown eth0; ifup eth0 Still having an IPv6 addr. The box has been up for 140 days. Would like to keep it running... This box is really Redsleeve 6, which is the port of Centos 6 to arm. The kernel I am using is the F19 kernel. All of this MIGHT be contributing to things not working as they would on a 'normal' Centos box. I am awaiting the start of the Centos7-arm work ;) On 03/09/2015 01:15 AM, Chris Stone wrote: > Sorry...

Looking for SElinux help
This is a little OT, but I hope that someone here could help me privately... The challenge is Redsleeve (EL6 for arm) was developed on armv5 and works just fine on armv7 if you have an armv7 kernel, which I do with the Fedora 19 remix. But no working SElinux, primarily because something like no SElinux in the armv5 kernel (little unclear as to why not, but it is not germaine to this problem)....

Trying to override MAC addr
I am trying to override the mac addr. Now this is on an armv7 actually running the F19 kernel and Redsleeve 6, but it SHOULD be standard Centos6 ifcfg-eth0 content. Of course RSEL does not start with a ifcfg-eth0 file, letting network services do all the work, so I am starting from scratch, using the file from one of my C6 boxes with static addressing. My file has in it: DEVICE="eth0" B...
