Performing post-installation setup tasks - for 75 minutes
I'm doing a new install, and everything seems to have gone fine apart from the incredible amount of time it's taken. It does have 6 x 4TB drives in RAID6 and I am installing from a USB DVD drive as I had no SATA ports left, but this is getting rediculous. I chose a simple install (the one above file and print server) and added Postgresql but that was about it. It took over 5 hours to do the install and at 16:50 it changed to Performing post-installation setup tasks. That was 85 minutes ago. The HDD light keeps flashing, but other than that (...

[PATCH v3] kvmalloc: always use vmalloc if CONFIG_DEBUG_SG
...FIG_DEBUG_SG is enabled by default in RHEL and Fedora debug kernel (if > you don't like CONFIG_DEBUG_SG, pick any other option that is enabled > there). Are you telling me that you are shaping a debugging functionality basing on what RHEL has enabled? And you call me evil. This is just rediculous. > Fail-injection framework is if off by default and it must be explicitly > enabled and configured by the user - and most users won't enable it. It can be enabled easily. a question about glm( )
Hi, I am working on an example about generalized linear model in a paper using glm( ). The code is quite simple and straightforward, but the result is rediculous. The true parameter is c(4, -6), but the result is c(2.264774, -3.457114) Can anybody tell me the reason for this? Thanks a lot!!! Here is the code: g=function(t){exp(t)/(1+exp(t))} #the given link function n = 100 # sample size beta.true = c(4,-6) #the true parameter #----------------------...

Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1 problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank. Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital? Which g729 codec to download for a P4?
...g.729 on our P4 server and I'm a little confused on 'which p4' I need to install. What is the 'm' for in pentium4m? seems to mean 'multi' processor but I am totally unclear on this. what the heck is just a 'pentium-m'? Thanks for your help. I apologize for the rediculousness of this question, but was hoping to find a chart on which preocessor is what in the README. I have a pentium4 server but do not understand how to quickly tell if I have a pentium4m a prescott or an i686 I 'think' it's a wiliamette just by clock speed and wild guessing from memory...

Trying to do some very simple ingress limiting, no success
...drop tcf parent ffff: protocol ip prio 1 handle 3 fw police rate 1mbit burst 10k drop This installs OK, but the filters are never called. The netfilter stats show the marks are set though. To make sure it''s not just the tc stats output that''s borked, I changed the bw limits to a rediculous low value, and indeed, no effect at all. === 2 === tcq ingress handle ffff: tcq parent ffff: handle 10 htb tcc parent ffff: htb rate 12mbit tcc parent ffff: htb rate 10mbit tcc parent ffff: htb rate 1mbit tcf parent ffff: protocol ip prio 1 fw I tricked tc into attaching a htb to the root qdi...

NexentaStor 3.0.3 vs OpenSolaris - Patches more up to date?
...to Nexenta from OpenSolaris b134? These DeDup bugs are my main frustration - if a staff member does a rm * in a directory with dedup you can take down the whole storage server - all with 1% cpu load and relatively little disk i/o due to DeDup DDT not fitting in the SSD + RAM (l2arc+arc). This is rediculous, something must be single threaded and it can''t be that difficult to at least allow reads from other files.. Writes perhaps are more complex - But in our case the "other files" don''t even have DeDup enabled on them and they can''t be read. It seems like some of...

Positioning
I''m trying to understand the Position object. Specially the various offset methods. From looking at the code I think I may understand them but I wanted to run it by the group to make sure I had a clear understanding. realOffset - This returns the coordinates of the element as if none of the elements on the page are scrollable from the document edge. cumulativeOffset - This returns

RoR vs JavaScript/AJAX vs Java interface. Conflicting ideas?
Hi, Over the past month I''ve been playing with some ideas for an admin interface for a ecommerce app. 1) Old-fashioned, forms-based, full-page-refresh, server-focused interface 2) Modern, JavaScript-Drag-Drop, AJAX, client-focused, Web2.0 interface The more I work on the second option with JavaScript an AJAX the more I feel like I''m moving away from building a server side

There should be a default speed/duplex setting for such devices as well. We can pick one that will be use universally for these kinds of devices.
