nlrob problem
Dear all,
I am not sure if this mail is for R-help or should be sent to R-devel
instead, and therefore post to both.
While using nlrob from package 'robustbase', I ran into the following
problem:
For psi-functions that can become zero (e.g. psi.bisquare), weights in
the internal call to nls can become zero. Example:
d <- data.frame(x=1:5,y=c(2,3,5,10,9))

multinomial logistic regression with equality constraints?
I'm interested in doing multinomial logistic regression with equality
constraints on some of the parameter values. For example, with
categorical outcomes Y_1 (baseline), Y_2, and Y_3, and covariates X_1
and X_2, I might want to impose the equality constraint that
\beta_{2,1} = \beta_{3,2}
that is, that the effect of X_1 on the logit of Y_2 is the same as the
effect of X_2 on the

Identifying outliers in non-normally distributed data
Hello,
I've been searching for a method for identify outliers for quite some
time now. The complication is that I cannot assume that my data is
normally distributed nor symmetrical (i.e. some distributions might
have one longer tail) so I have not been able to find any good tests.
The Walsh's Test (http://www.statistics4u.info/
fundsta...liertest.html#), as I understand assumes that the
