Synchronising password of some AD users with an external LDAP?
...than passwords, the
accounts and their attributes themselves should stay separate.
I know that if I were running a Windows AD, I could most likely
accomplish what I want with--if nothing else--the 389 DS by using
DS-provided Password Sync Service (see
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Directory_Server/9.0/html/Administration_Guide/Windows_Sync-Configuring_Windows_Sync.html
for more information).
However, our goal is to completely migrate our AD to Samba 4, so
committing to any software that depends on the continued availability of
a Windows DC simply won't do.

with Centos dirsrv servers.
I'm trying to deploy the Centos dirsrv consumer without running the

I've been following the directions at
http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Directory_Server/8.1/html/Administration_Guide/index.html
, specifically in chapter 8. When I get to "8.7.2. Configuring

in RHEL-7.5, that just means that the next major (not minor) release
will not have it.
Second there is an ldapsearch in 389. It is 'buried' at the moment
because it would conflict with the shipped one and I don't know if it
will move:

Extend schema on CentOS directory server
Currently I am running freeradius with an openldap backend, I am looking to move to the CentOS directory server.
The problem I am running into is that none of the RADIUS attributes I require are in the schema. My question is how do I update the schema with the needed freeradius attributes?
is it as easy as taking the openldap.schema file that freeradius provides and renaming it to something like

ApacheDS vs OpenLDAP
Hi all,
Wondering if any of you have thoughts/experiences with ApacheDS?
We've all had trials and tribulations regarding OpenLDAP and while its
basically working pretty well in a master/slave relationship, ApacheDS
claims more robust replication, etc...
Granted I am working with the version bundled with CentOS, I do
understand that the latest OpenLDAP is wayyyyyyy betterrrr :)
