Red5
Are there any asterisk users/developers who have been working with or
trialing installations of Red5?
It's an open source version of Adobe Flash Media Server -
(http://osflash.org/red5)
If so please email/call to discuss.

from Adobe Flex / Flash Player 10 .flv Speex via Red5 to .wav PCM?
I am having trouble converting a .flv file uploaded from Adobe Flex /
Flash Player 10 to a Red5 server using the speex coder:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/flash/media/Microphone.html
http://jira.red5.org/confluence/display/codecs/Speex+Codec
Questions:
1. How do I extract the audio track out of such a .flv file?
2. How do I convert it from Speex to .wav PCM?
Thanks.

celt codec for red5phone
I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with red5 (flash media server) and the
phone application (http://code.google.com/p/red5phone/)
It's written in java. Red5phone already uses the codecs PCMU, PCMA, iLBC and
G.729. I'd like to see CELT added since it is open source and the best
quality codec out there. Would anyone know how to port the...

OT - How to stream a A-Law/wav file to a browser ?
...googled a bit and couldn't find a tag such as media://myaudiofile.wav that
would fulfill this spec.
As much as possible, I would be happy to avoid configuring browser plugins
and so on.
So if this media:// could be already installed and running in users PCs,
that would be fine.
I've read Red5 servers/Flash players combination could respond but I'm not
too confident about a-law support and Red5 installation complexity for a
100% pure beginner.
What do you think ?
Cheers

looking for a decent free / Open Source flash media server
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me with this one. I am looking for a decent
free / Open Source flash media server software which I can run on a
Linux server. Adobe's Flash Media Server
(http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/) is very expensive
and not within any reasonable cost range (R40K+).
The Fladh Media Server uses the RMTP
This is needed to run the following Joomla extension:

_Streaming_ AAC to HTML5 player
...Karl H!
It's past time to ditch Flash!
I'm probably a bit out of date on this issue. The last time I checked,
no browser was able to directly play an AAC / MP4 / M4A stream from
Icecast. They can play AAC _files_ but not _streams_.
I see that there are now alternatives beyond Wowza and Red5.
But my question is: is anything happening with Icecast to address this?
Thanks!

Using Asterisk + other FOSS projects to facilitate a call-in Internet Radio web-frontend
...t calls in]->[Screened by Producer, if accepted, conferenced into host]
On the website they'll need to be able to call in (mic input grabbed),
and listen in (without calling in).
____
I've been suggested many things, including Skype, IceCAST and
[currently the most promising] Asterisk+Red5+Red5Phone.
Are there any better ways of doing this, and if not, how do I setup
asterisk for the above task?
Thanks for all suggestions,

streaming server on a virtual machine.
I need to installa a streaming server for live videos and for video on demand.
My choice is red5.
Do you think I can use a xen virtual machine to run a streaming service?
Or it is better not to virtualize?
Sorry for my bad english.

Global videoconferencing solution.
Hello everybody, i am searching a solution for a videoconferencing, Any

have more and more demands about videoconferencing of 3 or more peoples,
Existing solutions are heavy and costly, around 2500? for 1 client. This is
insane. Is there any solutions out there for non millionaires ? Or even Free

RTP over TCP
Hi List,
i have to put an * between two other SIP gateways and due to some
circumstances, i have to use sip over tcp. With 1.6.2.6 this is working
fine: sip gw A (deverto4) sends the call, i hand it over to sip gw B
(ocs) and that's about it. In the other direction however (ocs -> me ->
deverto4) the call setup is complete but there is no audio.
I can see the audio in the form of
