client disconnects after one song is played
I'm using the latest CVS source under Linux using a playlist
of ogg files. When I use a client to connect on the same
machine, there is not any disconnect (xmms and zinf). When
using a client on a Windows machine, I get mixed results.
Zinf on windows will play thru the current song but then stops
when the song is finished and does not play the next song
being streamed (see log below).

Strange hanging...
Hi,
I've been doing some experiments today with ices, icecast-2.0.1 server and using ogg123 to play the stream on a client device...
Twice, the client appears to "lock" at around the same point - once at 189:45:56 and the second time at 187:45:40. The server log states:
[2004-05-30 17:28:50] DBUG format/format_generic_write_buf_to_client Client had recoverable error -1

Client had recoverable error
Hi there,
I?m using icecast 2.0.1 with darkice 0.14 streaming an 192kb mp3 stream.
Everything seems to work fine except that clients (eg winamp5) disconnect
after a period of time (5/10/20 minutes). The icecast log shows some weir
errors:
[2004-08-18? 01:24:54] DBUG format-mp3/format_mp3_write_buf_to_client Client

Client had recoverable error
Mhhh. I am streaming from a 8mbit adsl connection so it should be fast
enough. I tried streaming with media player, it's working for 24 hours now,
doesn't seem to have the problem, is my winamp 5.03 broken? Or is winamp
broken in general? :)
Thanks for the help.

Log delay, recoverable error -1, replaygain
Hi!
I have a few questions about the log files icecast produces, plus I have a
little issue with replaygain but lets start with the icecast log stuff:
If a client (listener) connects to icecast at, say, 12:00, the connection
time is stored in the access log about 15-30 minutes later (or on
disconnection). Is it possible to get icecast to log client connections
immediately with the correct

Apparent SAS HBA failure-- now what?
My setup: A SuperMicro 24-drive chassis with Intel dual-processor
motherboard, three LSI SAS3081E controllers, and 24 SATA 2TB hard drives,
divided into three pools with each pool a single eight-disk RAID-Z2. (Boot
is an SSD connected to motherboard SATA.)
This morning I got a cheerful email from my monitoring script: "Zchecker has
discovered a problem on bigdawg." The full output is

odd behavior from zpool replace.
i''ve got a little zpool with a naughty raidz vdev that won''t take a
replacement that as far as i can tell should be adequate.
a history: this could well be some bizarro edge case, as the pool doesn''t
have the cleanest lineage. initial creation happened on NexentaCP inside
vmware in linux. i had given the virtual machine raw device access to 4
500gb drives and 1 ~200gb

Icecast 2 for Live365 MP3 Relaying
Hi All,
I attempted to switch my MP3 server from Icecast 1 to Icecast 2 today. I
run a Live365 station, Big Planet Radio, which simply relays my local
Icecast server.
My Icecast 2 error.log file shows a lot of the following messages when the
Live365 server, Nanocaster 2.5.6, is connected to it:

Dirves going offline in Zpool
Hi,
I have Dell md1200 connected to two heads ( Dell R710 ). The heads have
Perc H800 card and drives are configured in Raid0 ( Virtual Disk) in the
RAID controller.
One of the drives had crashed and is replaced by a spare. Resilvering was
triggered but fails to complete due to drives going offline. I have to
reboot the head ( R710) and drives comes online. This happened repeatedly

Undo/reverse zpool create
Hi,
If I add an entire disk to a new pool by doing "zpool create", is this reversible?
I.e. if there was data on that disk (e.g. it was the sole disk in a zpool in another system) can I get this back or is zpool create destructive?

[LLVMdev] LLVM asserts
How do you get LLVM methods to return or throw an error to the
caller's code rather than aborting the process? I'd like my compiler
to be able to print diagnostic messages, including language source
lines, whenever LLVM reports a problem.

cygwin tar?
I've been attempting to create a new R package and recently removed the
cygwin installation from my machine since R requires the use of the MingW
tools for building an R package with C code. However, when I tried to build
a source package, I found the following results:
* removing junk files
* building 'Rconifers_0.7-1.tar.gz'

Newbie - Rails 3 authentication question (Devise)
Hello!
I''m working on my first Rails app and I have a question regarding
authentication. I already have authentication for signing up, logging
in, logging out, etc. What I need is an account email activation
function and a reset password (forgot password) function. I have read
a little bit about Devise and watched the Railscast episodes on it, it
seems nice, but is it possible to add
