Auditing filesystems for Linux?
...anyone in a
particular group can write to a file and therefore can delete the file
should they want to, or fat finger a command and delete it accidentally.
I've Googled on this query, but have yet to find any relevant
information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andy.

Caveats to mounting ext3 as ext2?
...n, and has been cleanly mounted as
ext2, and I currently have no problems with the partition.
My question is, is there any harm in mounting this partition as ext2?
Are there any caveats that I should be aware of by mounting in this
fashion?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Andy.

One-way audio with H.323 --> SIP call
Good day,
I have a puzzling issue that people in the IRC channel recommended I
post to the list so here goes :)
I am trying to call a SIP softphone from an H.323 hardphone. The
hardphone is connected to a Definity Prologix R12 PBX with a MedPro card
and a CLAN. The Avaya is setup to send any call to extension 1609 down
an H.323 trunk group that is destined for the Asterisk server. When I

ext3 on an logical volume - snapshot using how?
Hi everybody!
I'm using LVM and ext3 and am very satisfied with it.
But now I have the following problem:
I have a filesystem on a LV which is in use -
files are created, modified and so on.
To do a backup I'd like to create a snapshot
of this volume which gets backup'd and then dropped.
# lvcreate -s -L 20M -n snapshot /dev/vg/data
