vorbis rebroadcaster?
Are there any rebroadcasters out there set up for vorbis streams?
A weekly internet radio program is looking to add vorbis to their codec
lineup, but needs a host to rebroadcast the vorbis uplink.
Right now they send Microsoft Media Encoder streams to Mindsnare who
rebroadcasts it from there.

audio streaming server
Hello...
I'm involved in a project whereby a live audio input from the FM radio
station is to be sent to an audio streaming server, which will stream
the audio to the remote sites thru the VSAT (satellite based) network.
The remote sites are to rebroadcast the transmissions (FM station
rebroadcast), as most of the expected listeners do not have access to the
internet.
Is icecast2 capable of

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Hi Everybody,
It works with Peercast because Peercast receives the headers from Icecast2
and sends its own headers back to the client (Winamp, WMP, Real...).
Remember that Peercast is a client AND a server... I guess Peercast doesn't
send back the headers in the same way than Icecast2. Maybe Peercast doesn't
use ICY/X-audiocast.
Talking about Real (v9.0 and 10), I already got the

ices2 realplayer
I'm rebroadcasting a realplayer stream and there are two problems.
The icecast2 sounds tinny and its delayed something like 3secs.
Any advice to perhaps use speex as it's talk radio?
Can I cut the delay?
Here is my ices2 config:

Here is details of the feed, so you can take a listen:

Firewall issue - Port 80
Hello.
we are trying to setup some rebroadcast of live feeds with IceCast 2 and
darkice server on
dedicated machines. With some customers we have problems to get the the
mp3 stream
through fiorewalls on port 8000.
If I reconfigure the IceCast 2 server on port 80 it cannot create a
listener socket on port 80.
There is definitly no service on port 80 running.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Hi Stephan,
I am talking about the meta-data: Artist - Song. It's weird because you are
the second person on the list who doesn't get it working in Real... I just
tried again with "BEK_dns" and "Radio Alcanzando Naciones" the 2 first MP3
radios I found in the stream directory and everything worked perfectly for
Real (but not for WMP).
In RealPlayer, I clicked

load average question
i've been trying to research this online , but i haven't found anything
too conclusive .
i've got up to 4 ices (non-encoding) rebroadcasts going , and up to 2
stream transcoders .
my load averages around 2.xx ( haven't seen it over 3 yet )..
does anyone know if this is too high ? , or if i should use a more
powerful cpu ?
thanks .. .

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Maybe it works with WinAmp because peercast is received via a plugin
that supports this?
http://www.peercast.org/download.php
WinAmp 2.x/5.x:
- Self-extracting installer
- Installs WinAmp plugin client
- Enables peercast:// links
- Free. No adware/spyware
Allan, I assume you have a plugin installed for listening to
peercast?

Dear all,
I am a newbie to Icecast and Darkice following this blog: http://natescrap.blogspot.com/2009/03/icecasting-with-ubuntu-and-radio-shark.html
as this is the same devices that I have here using RadioShark2 as my input device. Now I am able to listen to my local fm station fm 89.9 but would rather want it to rebroadcast to all my LAN clients using icecast2 and darkice. I have not have any

icecast cvs patch
This is *nothing* major, just a minor tweak that makes FreeStream's
rebroadcast system work smoother. It is a patch for icecast CVS( checked
out at 20040505 20:00UTC), That simply adds to format_vorbis.c the
ability to read more vorbis_comment information (namely; comment, info
and length)
Hopefully this can be useful.

[Bridge] Wireless bridge - revisited
...fault, take 'unicast encapsulated' broadcast frames
received on the WLAN interface and rebroadcast them on the air _as_
broadcast frames (this occurs inside the WLAN mac layer so any
bridging in the AP itself would have no effect on this problem),
4) The WB picks up the rebroadcasted bcast frame and forwards it to the
wire, hence the broadcast frame shows up on the wire twice.
In a bridge situation, the bridge would first see the bcast frame on port
2 (the original transmission), then some time later it would see it again
on port 4 (the echo). When the bridge sees the f...

Is it possible to configure Asterisk so that it does the Q.SIG Path Replacement Feature ?
Hello,
If I connect an Asterisk 1.6 to a PBX via Q.SIG and
A (on the PBX) calls B (a SIP phone on Asterisk).
B answers and puts A on hold. Then B calls C (on the PABX) and does an attended transfer.
Is it possible to configure Asterisk so that it does the Q.SIG ?Path Replacement Feature? ?
The Q.SIG "Path Replacement Feature" requires the following:

Graceful Icecast Source Switching?
All --
Anyone know what the "best practice" technique is for gracefully switching
sources?
Here's situation:
Server A is streaming recorded MP3 files to a bunch of listeners (ICES).
Server B is a live feed (via oddcast)
When I want to transition the Server A listeners to the Server B stream, I
do the following:
(1) Kill the ICES process on Server A
(2) Start a RELAY PULL on

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Did you really see meta-data? Or did it show data from the playlist-
file? Or did you see the data (name and genre) provided in the http-
header upon connect?
E.g.:
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-
playlist.pls?rn=4219&file=filename.pls
Shows "CLUB 977 The 80s Channel (HIGH BANDWIDTH)" in WinAmp. But this
is due to the "title" set in the .pls and/or provided in
