Use of CentOS name and logo
Hi. my name is Giacomo Sanchietti and I'm working for a company called Nethesis. We are working on a CentOS derived distribution like SME Server. It's a minimal CentOS with a software layer on top to add a web configuration interface. The CD iso, it's a CentOS minimal CD with some extras packages from centos-base yum group, and a kickstart file to automatize the installation

LDAP and Linux compatibility
While this is a fairly old thread, there may still be people looking for the *correct* answer for this question (at least I were 10 minutes ago...) So, the problem is that some applications (acroread7 in this case) refuse to start when run on a NIS or LDAP (client?), with a message containing: GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id See more about the problem in previous

IBM ServeRAID M5014 and CentOS 5.5
Hi all, we are about to buy some IBM x3550 M2 servers with ServeRAID M5014 SAS onboard controller. Can anyone confirm that these controllers will work with CentOS 5.5 (seems to be some rebranded LSI controller). I cannot find any hint in the 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 sources... Geek Squad UPS Systems
We are interested in using Nut on our Federa 6.0 servers. However, our UPS systems are sold under the name "Geek Squad" (sold through the Best Buy chain of department stores). I'm pretty certain Geek Squad does not manufacture these units and they just rebrand them. Does anyone know who makes these units or what they are compatible with in terms of driver level protocol? The ones we

Load balancing...
Hi All, Can anyone help me hash out how best to load balance a website that is getting considerable traffic? In the past I only have experience with BigIP where you have a load balancing device that keeps track and send traffic to the best server possible at the time. This was a proprietary system that I think was something Dell rebranded. Right now, the whole site is is 400gb of video, HTML5,

It comes from SNOM, now acquired by a HongKong company now 2) PortSIP PBX (http://www.portsip.com/portsip-pbx). It also includes VoIP SDK, WebRTC and offer rebranding app for free. My boss prefers the Open Source PBX since they are free, but our CTO prefers the commercial editions, according to whom the business PBX has better support, and the performance is good, and easy to use - considering our team all are new to VoIP/PBX. Changing the centos name on boot
I am kinda getting a tweaked distrubution with CentOS, So this is kinda rebranding. I am not trying to change the hostname, trying to change the System OS name in the on boot screen. I have changed the grub configuration file and it reflects in the Boot OS selection screen, login screen. But only in the on boot screen does it not reflect. My search led me to something called ply...

NUTDRV_ATCL_USB driver on Windows
Hello again! I'm the guy from the blazer_usb shutdown problem the other day. Now I moved on installing the system in another work PC with another kind of rebranded UPS. This ups is a double battery 1000VA "UPS" brand. Device identifies itself as "ATCL FOR USB" on device description. Blazer_usb seems to identify it as compatible but fails at sending commands. Further

Tesco Internet Phone
I've gotten hold of a "Tesco Internet Phone" which is a dect phone with the base connecting to the pc via usb. Has anyone been able to get this working with any softphone like xlite ? It seems as if the tesco internet phone uses IAX - the software that comes with it is a rebranded firefly (or so it seems) I already have a SPA2000 and SPA3000 hooked up, but I was just curious to
