R in rearranging equations
...eally the
solution we get should be in R. I am also aware that this isn't difficult to
solve by hand, but the remaining equations I have to work through have up to
double the number of variables.
Any help will be appreciated!

rearrange set of items randomly
...ilt function sample()
At one point in the function I would like to resample/rearrange the items of
my sample (so I would want to use sample, but I am not allowed to do so), so
I have to come up with sth else that does the same as the in built function
sample()
The only thing that sample() does is rearranging the items of a sample, so I
searched the internet for a function that does that to be able to use it,
but I cannot find anything that could help me.
Can maybe someone help me with this?
I would be very grateful,
Cheers,
Maria

paired t-test. Need to rearrange data?
Dear all,
I have received some data arranged like this:
# original data
id <- rep(letters[1:6], each=2)
time <- as.factor(rep(1:2, 6))
y <- as.vector(replicate(6, c(rnorm(n=1, mean=1), rnorm(n=1, mean=2))))
test.data <- data.frame(id, time, y)
test.data
I would like to perform a paired t-test of the y-values at time=1
against those at time=2, with samples paired by their id. Is it

rearrange command in quantreg package
Dear all,
I want to use the "rearrange" command which is based on Chernozhukov et al
paper and is included in the quantreg package. So, I run a quantile
regression in which I included dummy variables for state and years in order
to estimate the respective fixed effects quantile regression. The problems
are the followings:

how to rearrange a dataframe
Hi all,
I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this...
I have a data frame that looks like this:

I need to rearrange this in a way so that the rows with "1" in the
first column, and "-" in the second column; then columns 4 and 6
should switch places. That is, column 6 would be now column 4 and

rearrange problem
Hi All,
I am trying to rearrange alphabetically each element in a character vector.
ex: say the first element in the vector is "cba", and my goal is to turn it
into "abc". The suggested function to use is sort(). But it turns out that
sort doesn't work at the level of element. So I am wondering that if there
is an alternative function for this purpose. Please help me out .

Now my attention moves to the Ogg Vorbis code necessary to do all this

1. how exactly will the overlap/add nature of Vorbis packets affect me

Rearranging columns with cbind

Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this? When I apply the same command to
different combinations of columns, or to 16:18 by itself, there is no
problem.

bootstrapping in regression

distribution for beta1. Finally compare beta1 for the observed data

What I now wonder is how the situation looks like in the multiple
regression case. Assume there are two predictors, X1 and X2. Is it then
possible to do the same, but just only rearranging the values of one
predictor (the one of interest) at a time? Say I want again to test
beta1. Is it then valid to many times randomly rearrange the X1 data
(and keeping Y and X2 as observed), fit the model, take the beta1
coefficient, and finally compare the beta1 of the observed data against

rearranging data frame rows

I have two data frames. The first contains data about a number of individuals,
coded in the first column with a name, in an order I find convenient.
The second contains different data about the same indivduals, in a different
order. Both data frame have the individual names in the first column.
I need to reorder the second data frame so the rows are rearranged in the same
manner as
