repeated measures with random effects
Dear all, I'm interested in analysing a reapeated measure desing where plant height (H) was measured 3 times (Time). The experimental design include 2 fixed factor (say A and B) in which A is nested in B, and a random factor (C, the plot), using the aov(). So my first idea would be something like: aov(H ~ B * A %in% B * Time + Error(id) ) where id is the factor coded for the repeated

Samba panics on disk size and connection is lost while copting files.
I have moved a Samba installation from an old samba 2.2.8a (on a 2.4.21 kernel) to a new server running Samba 3.0.10 on a SuSE 9.2 (kernel 2.6.8) and I now have a problem using the (same) shares from client W2K machines. When I open "My Computer" window on a client, the drives are marked by a red cross, as if they were disconnected, and the disksize is zero. I can decend into the

Wireless Made Easy (for Home Desktops)
...rk immediately. I've been using a D-Link G730AP for a while -- but it's not really made for this -- it's a pocket adapter meant to carry with you laptop. And, unlike my old Asus WL-330, it won't hook up to a switch. Asus also makes a more powerful, larger, wireless AP/Client/Bridge/Reapeater, the WL-320gE. I bought two of these on eBay and they work great as Clients (network adapters) or "Stations" in Asus talk. They have a range of 850 meters (as compared to the pocket AP's range of 40 meters) so, in my room, I've got the full speed of my Cable wirelessly. It's t...
