Getting 8139cp (1.3) and 8139too (0.9.28) on Centos 5.8
Subject says it all.
How can I get the 1.3 version and 0.9.28
to compile on CentOS 5.8 ???
When I compile the two as modules I get errors.
My Makefile is:
obj-m += 8139cp.o 8139too.o
all:
make -C /lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build M=$(PWD) modules
clean:
make -C /lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build M=$(PWD) clean
The errors I get are:

Realtek 8111GR on C7
Hi list,
I'm planning to buy a mobo (z170-K) that has Realtek 8111GR (nic).
I've tried to search on google about support on C7 but can't fine anything.
There is a way to check if supported?
Is the Realtek 8111GR supported or I must change mobo?
Thanks in advance.

[pxelinux] fix for Realtek PXE implementation
I found (and fixed) a problem with my realtek onboard 8139 controller.
dhcpd server sends filename "pxelinux.0" but realtek requests
"pxelinux.0\377"
(i.e. the octal character 377 is appended), resulting in a file not found
during
the tftpd phase.
I fixed this by adding a mapping to tftpd:
# strip ending garbage from filenames (Realtek PXE bug)
r ^([[:graph:]]*)(.+)$ \1

Intel D425KT Motherboard / Realtek RTL8105E
Greetings-
I'm attempting to get CentOS 5.5 x86 (yes, very specific version required for specific software usage scenario... don't ask) running on an Intel D425KT mini-ITX motherboard. Everything works fine, with the exception of the onboard ethernet, which is a Realtek RTL8105E chip. The stock CentOS installation attempts to use the r8169 driver, which does not work. I've been around

Realtek 8111GR on C7
Realtek is "real" good about getting drivers for their chips into the
kernels as soon as possible. They are one of the few vendors that I have
never had a problem with built in support...

Realtek RTL8111B
Hello,
I am bussy building a xen cluster.
When selecting mainboards for this cluster i came only up with core 2 duo mainboards with onboard gigabit ethernet cards with the realtek RTL8111B chipset.
I have tested a mainboard and could not find a way to compile the driver sourcecode from the realtek site because of a missing /lib/modules/2.6.16-xen/Build directory.
Can anyone help me out? I am

Solaris 10 (9/10) on Xen 3.4
Hi,
I am trying to run solaris 10 (9/10) on Xen 3.4 (centos5.5 as dom0) in HVM
mode.
I can see the realtek 8139 network adapters when I do pciscan but ''ifconfig
-a'' just lists loopback device. I can load rtls drivers but still these
realtek interfaces are not available.
I found a link which does say The rtls driver from Realtek still uses

conflict between Realtek 8139 (client) and 3c2000T (server) NIC's with Samba?
Hi,
Last friday I changed the NIC in two of our Samba servers from a 3com 905b
(100mb) to a 3com 2000T (1000mb) to take advantage of our new switch which
supports gigabit.
One of the workstations (XP SP1, with all subsequent patches and hotfixes
and with an onboard Realtek 8139) then started
to have problems with the two Samba servers with the new NIC's. It could see

Centos Realtek Network driver for Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
Greetings,
I am tearing my hair at getting this to work under centos 5.5/Ubuntu 10.04.
Any suggesstions (Repos, RPMs etc)?
My MB Intel embedded NIC blow up after a lightning (Mumbai get _real_
heavy mansoon rains inter alia).
I want this to make work under Centos 5.x (and 6.x subsequently who
DVD I have been downloading with a pithy 128kbps connection).

conflict between Realtek 8139 (client) and3c2000T(server) NIC's with Samba?
Completely agree.
I used to have 8139c cards in my home machines, on a switched 100mbit network, including a Dual P3 server that I run 4 x 80G drives with a HPT454 RAID5 array (software I know, but the dual P3 copes admirably), both the server and my main desktop (dual Athlon MP 2600) were getting to the point of being unusable when such high CPU useage when transferring large documents (Quark

Odd thing with Realtek Ethernet card
Hi all, I swapped a Realtek 8139 100M Net Card for a Realtek 8169 Gig
Net card in a Centos 5.6 system.
After reconfiguring the network settings I find that on boot up the 8169
interface does not start. The startup script says something like "The
8169 is not available..."
ifconfig -a shows a device with the right mac address called

Jumbo frames problem with Realtek NICs?
I was trying to do some performance testing between using iSCSI on the
host as a diskfile to a guest vs the VM guest using the iSCSI device
directly.
However, in the process of trying to establish a baseline performance
figure, I started increasing the MTU settings on the PCI-express NICs
with RTL8168B chips.
First bottleneck was discovering the max MTU allowed on these is 7K
instead of 9K but
