How about if I sell you a copy of speex. Buy low, sell high seems like
a good capitalist plan, and then you could feel good about using Speex!

What are the differences between systemd and non-systemd Linux distros?
...lief. That?s pretty much the basis of their company?s major income stream.
What Red Hat is not doing is filling every demand from all working system administrators. They?re choosing which demands to address, as any software project management must.
Red Hat has certainly heard the screams of the reactionaries. Since that hasn?t changed anything, I believe you have your demand?s answer. So, what are you going to do about it?

Hello Monty:
I'm OK with not continuing this on the Speex tech list. In fact, I've
deliberately responded off list to the various posters. I do think,
though, that your admonitions to be non political should go to both
sides ... that Jean-Marc founded Speex doesn't give him license to
denigrate other efforts. Thomas Leigh asked a perfectly legitimate
question and Jean-Marc's

Metadata format.
Hi.
Seeing as the topic appeared a while ago I was wondering: How do people feel about adopting ID3v2 for Vorbis
aswell. This would, of course, mean it's given a stream of its own and even allow interleaving.
It could be usefull, seeing as it would cut down on both initial development and software support, since a lot
(most?) audio players already support it. It could also allow for code

Best option for my home file server?
I was recently evaluating much the same question but with out only a
single pool and sizing my disks equally.
I only need about 500GB of usable space and so I was considering the
value of 4x 250GB SATA Drives versus 5x 160GB SATA drives.
I had intended to use an AMS 5 disk in 3 5.25" bay hot-swap backplane.

Why?

Because he's funded. And I strongly suspect that a lot of that funding
comes from M$'s interest in Upstream.

ZFS and Linux
Hello,
I believe that ZFS and it''s concepts is truly revolutionary to the
point that I no longer see any OS as modern if it does not have
comparable storage functionality. Therefore I think that file
system/disk manager with similar qualities should be written for Linux.
Does Sun have plans to dual license ZFS as GPL so it can be ported to
native Linux?
If not, is it legal to write
