Authentication to Active Directory
Has anybody managed to have Dovecot authenticate to Microsoft Active Directory? I've tried to get it to work using LDAP and the following settings dovecot.conf: userdb = ldap /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf passdb = ldap /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf dovecot-ldap.conf: hosts = rdg-home.ad.rdg.ac.uk dn = cn=bind-user,cn=users,dc=rdg-home,dc=ad,dc=rdg,dc=ac,dc=uk dnpass = XXXXX ldap_version = 2 base = dc=rdg-home,dc=ad,dc=rdg,dc=ac,dc=uk user_filter = (sAMAccountName=%u) pass_filter = (sAMAccountName=%u) I've also tried things like "(&(objectClass=sAMACcountName)...

Dovecot LDA config problem on RHEL 4 x86_64
Hello, Has anyone succeeded on configuring and compiling Sieve capable Dovecot LDA on RHEL 4 x86_64 platform? I am having problems with configure script hanging on sed while creating Makefiles. # ./configure --with-dovecot=../dovecot .. checking how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate checking whether stripping libraries is possible... yes checking for library containing

rc12 dovecot-auth core dump with ldap
Hi, I've got a core dump during initialisation when I use 1.0.rc12 and LDAP with authenticated binds in Solaris. It worked OK in 1.0.rc10. Here's the non-commented entries in dovecot-ldap.conf - some of which are probably redundant :) :- hosts = xxx.yyy.rdg.ac.uk auth_bind = yes auth_bind_userdn = "cn=%n,cn=users,dc=xxx,dc=yyy,dc=rdg,dc=ac,dc=uk" ldap_version = 3 base = "dc=xxx,dc=yyy,dc=rdg,dc=ac,dc=uk" deref = never scope = subtree user_filter = (&(objectClass=User)(sAMAccountName=%n)) pass_filter = (&(objectClass=User)(s...

Curved arrows
I'm trying to draw an arrow with a curved shaft on the graph as a straight one looks messy on a detailed graph. I've looked in arrows but it doesn't seem to give an option. larrows doesn't look much more promising. I had a look in the archive and couldn't find anything. Any thoughts? Index cache file problems in Dovecot 1.2.0
I've been seeing lots of index cache file errors (using mbox on Solaris 8 sparc 64-bit, but with 32-bit Dovecot) since I switched my account to Dovecot 1.2.0 (we're still on 1.0.15 mostly, but I'm hoping to upgrade to 1.1.17+ this summer, or 1.2.x if it's stable enough). e.g. Error: Corrupted index cache file <path>/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index.cache: field index too large (47

Statistician Needed
Hello, I've come up with some challenges with my process that are a bit too complicated for the mailing list. Is there anyone out there, preferably a real "statistician", who is willing to consult with me via phone/email for a few hours. I'm happy to pay you for your time. Thanks, -Noah

Changing "Shutdown" to "Log off" in Win95?
The Samba set up we're using to support 25 or so Win 95 clients is working well, but my users are usually not up to complicated tasks. Has anyone found a way to get logging out down to a single action (like, Start/Logout), instead of Start/Shutdown/Close all programs and log in as another user/Yes? I'm tired of explaining this already! :) Daryl Daryl Biberdorf darylb@superserve.com

Suppressing error messages in a for loop
Hi, Is there any way that I can supress error messages so that they don't stop for loops running? I'm using the gstat package and have created a variogram model for the double exponential model: "dexp <- vgm( .5, "Exp", 10,.1, add.to = vgm(.5, "Exp", 100))" and fitted it using "dexp.fit <- fit.variogram(temp2, dexp, fit.method=6,

Patterned shading in ggplot
Am trying to produce a graph which prints out well in black and white using ggplot2. I have the following example set up nicely, but want to shade the red bars in one pattern and the blue in another so they print out clearly. I tried changing colours to 1 light, 1 dark, but then the overlapping colour looks virtually identical to the darker one. I noted the option density in barplot, but

Fitting a kind of Proportional Odds Modell using nlme, polr, lrm or ordgee
...hat means p_{ij1}+....+p_{ijk}= Q_{ijk} and Q_{ijm}=1, Q_{ij1}=1. i = 1,...,r (r=5) #number of studies j = 1,....,n_{i} #subject j from study i k = 1,...,m (m=5)#Category My problem is how to fit this model in R although I have a SAS code from Whitehead which is availabe at http://www.rdg.ac.uk/mps/mps_home/misc/publications.htm . There it is fit by using Proc NLMIXED. The result for beta is there: The problem is that alpha_{ik} represents the k_th intercept for the i_th study. A "normal" Proportional-Odds model has only alpha_k which represents the k-th intercept wit...

Plotting 1 covariate, 3 factors
I'm interested in plotting a y with an x factor as the combination of 2 factors and colour with respect to a third, which the code below does with interaction.plot(). However, this is because I redefine the x to be 1 factor. Is there a way of getting it to plot without redefining it, and ideally to not join up the lines BETWEEN levels a and b, but just join those between after and before for

Suggestion for new 'dns proxy' feature?
Hi, Am I right I thinking that if I turn on 'dns proxy', I can do '\\smb.x.org' (if it fits into 15) letters? I'd like to use 'dns proxy' but only for local addresses in my domain. Would it be possible to do add a 'dns proxy local only = yes' or something (new option) which won't use DNS to resolve names which have a '.' in? (Alternatively, if

Using large datasets: can I overload the subscript operator?
Hello, I do some computations on datasets that come from climate models. These data are huge arrays, significantly larger than typically available RAM, so they have to be accessed row-by-row, or rather slice-by slice, depending on the task. I would like to make an R package to easily access such datasets within R. The C++ backend is ready and being used under Windows/.Net/Visual Basic, but I have
