RDAC for IBM DS4700
...two of HP Blade Servers and RHEL 4.6 installed on them, and have IBM DS4700 connected to them. In those servers are running RHCS (Red Hat Cluster Suite) with GFS for handling Oracle Database. Yesterday, I had missing one partition from the storage, suddenly. I called IBM and they suggested to use RDAC. The question is, Why should use IBM RDAC for multipath on RHEL 4, and why HP Blade + HP EVA Storage don't use any addition plugins software to keep server + storage connection? I appreciate for some reasons by all of you. Thank you. Regards, Wahyu -------------- next part --------------...

kernel-devel: compile MPP/RDAC kernel module
Hi Centos Users I am running Centos 4.6 wit latest updates. For I/O multipathing I need to use kernel 2.6.9-55 (IBM support matrix). Trying to compile Engenio Linux RDAC Driver[0] I fail to install kernel-devel for this exact kernel (with up2date). Up2date always installs the newest. # make clean make V=1 -C/lib/modules/2.6.9-55.ELsmp/build M=/root/tmp/linuxrdac-09.02.B5.15 MODVERDIR=/lib/modules/2.6.9-55.ELsmp/build/.tmp_versions SUBDIRS=/root/tmp/linuxrdac-09.0...

Xen and Linux-RDAC driver for Engenio storage controller
I am trying to use Xen with a Sun StorEdge 6130 disk array, but there are some IBM TotalStorage arrays that use the same RDAC driver, so hopefully someone has run across this. The driver will not compile with Xen and newer 2.6 sources/gcc4. At first there are some invalid lvalue assignments to clean up, and a few places where static declarations need to be removed, but I finally get to a point where the code just doesn&...

IBM Storwize V3700 storage - device names
...v/sdb and /dev/sdc, with the same size. Previously I have installed many systems with IBM DS3500 series of storage and the servers see one disk per export. I am using the MPP drives from this package: http://support.netapp.com/NOW/public/apbu/oemcp/apbu_lic.cgi/public/apbu/oemcp/09.03.0C05.0652/rdac-LINUX-09.03.0C05.0652-source.tar.gz I came upon the IBM site, saying to configure multipath (I never did it for DS3500 series). When I did, a new device came, /dev/dm-7, but my goal is to have one /dev/sdX type of device and no device mapper. I read that Storwize support DMP RDAC, and DS suppor...

Qlogic HBA scanning issues with CentOS 5.1 ?
Hi, I got few servers (IBM HS20,HS21 blades, IBM xSeries 3650 & others) connected to a dual fabric san throught Qlogic HBA's (23xx, 24xx). Multipathing is done with device-mapper-multipath. On CentOS 4.x i can scan for new scsi devices without any problems, get them up with multipathing & use them without any problems. However, after i started installing CentOS 5.1 (did not
