Managing private key files; content=>file vs. binary content.
Hi all,
Hi all,
We use puppet for, amongst other things, managing the private-key
files needed for things like SSL certificates for HTTPS web servers.
We have a few constraints on how these are handled, and changes in
recent versions of puppet are making this harder than it perhaps ought
to be to implement, so I''m curious to know how others are handling it.

Changes to apt.puppetlabs.com
Last Friday, with a minimum of hiccups, we moved to using freight
(http://www.github.com/rcrowley/freight) to handle our repository at
apt.puppetlabs.com. One consequence of this move is that the debian
repository links will need to be updated. They should be changed to
the following:
deb http://apt.puppetlabs.com/ $dist main
and
deb-src http://apt.puppetlabs.com/ $dist main

using puppet ssl certs for other applications
Hello,
As I''ve been building up my puppet infrastructure, I''ve started using
puppet certs for all of my services that require ssl. Usually this is
in the form of links:
file {
"/opt/syslog-ng/etc/ca.d/b2457b50.0":
require => Package["syslog-ng"],
ensure => link,

Accessing Facter in other languages than Ruby?
Hi all,
We''re writing a few scripts at the moment that could really make use of
Facter, however the vast majority of them team (including my self!) are not
proficient in Ruby, however they are highly proficient in other languages such
as (dare I say it!) Python.
Is there (or are there any plans to!) release bindings for other languages to
enable facts to be used in scripts other

Separating puppetmaster file serving and catalogs
I''m looking for a way to run more than one puppetmaster on the same server under passenger. Most of the puppet CPU load is waiting for the catalogs to compile. This also seems to be mostly what takes large amounts of RAM. I have storedconfigs on.
I want to be able to move the fileserver to a different pool of puppetmaster processes. Is there an easy way to tell the client, either in
