Where are usbhid-ups driver parameters defined - and what do some of them mean?
I am using the usbhid-ups driver with a Belkin UPS.
upsc shows several parameters which I would like to both understand and
probably change. In particular the following part of upsc output:
battery.charge.low: 30
battery.charge.warning: 30
battery.runtime: 120
My questions are:
1) What is the difference between battery.charge.low and
battery.charge.warning? I presume these are %

Error: Module Microcode does not exist... at boot time
I have just installed Centos 5.0 from DVD. I have also run the software
updates and I think everything is up to date.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA945GM-S2 with an Intel E2140 processor.
At boot time if I select show details - there is one error shown "in
red", Like this:
Applying Intel CPU microcode update. FATAL: Module microcode not found.

upsmon shutdown based on Time since power fail.
For various reasons - I have been trying to get my Desktops and/or
servers to shut-down a fixed time after a power fail - or better still a
fixed time - or a low battery whichever comes first.
I note in my upsc:
*> upsc belkinusb*
battery.charge: 100
battery.charge.low: 30
battery.charge.warning: 30
battery.runtime: 120
battery.type: PbAc
battery.voltage: 27.3
battery.voltage.nominal: 24

Windows Nut Client supporting hibernate.
I am aware of 2 windows nut clients both interestingly called winnut.
One (winnut 2.0.0b) is a service based client based on a port of the but
client code (I think). The other is a GUI client based on (I think
again) on knutclient .
I have corresponded with both authors about a feature request - to allow
the shut-down action to be (optionally) a windows hibernate. This seems

RAID handling in UPS Shutdown script
I have read the NUT document /usr/share/doc/nut-2.2.0/docs/shutdown.txt
And in particular the section called "RAID Warning".
In response to this section I have added the two lnes, but haven't yet
tested it:
mdadm --readonly /dev/md0
mdadm --readonly /dev/md1
into /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt
Thus:

Automatic printers don't quite work...
I have a new Centos 5.1 system whicn reports samba version samba
3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4 - and have just added a physical printer. Linux
doesn't know the printer (Samsung CLP510) so it is installed as "raw" -
no driver.
When I use a windows box to browse the network - the printer is visible
on the C5 server (without me explicitly creating a share)- and I can
"connect" it -

Samba seems to be working - but Linux client can't see windows machines
I'm not sure whether this is a samba problem or not - but thought
someone on the list will probably know.
After quite a bit of fiddling - I think Samba is now doing what I want
it to - providing file and printer sharing for my windows machines.
However - my Centos 5.1 Linux box Can't browse the windows machines from
the gnome/nautilus interface. I know the windows machines are

Centos 5.0 x86-64 install crashes with Realtek 8111B Ethrenet
While installing Centos 5.0 x86-64 on a Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2 motherboard
which has Realtek 8111B Ethernet chip - Anaconda crashes.
I select the option to use the Centos online repository for extra
packages - I am asked to enter IP address etc. The drop box to select
the Ethernet interface is blank. If I enter valid IP address and gateway
- anaconda crashes and the system reboots from CD. I

Network problems with Centos 5 xen kernel
Hi - I have a machine which was originally built with Centos 5.0
including xen. It has all the current updates and here are some questions:
The current problem is:
1) If I boot the non-xen kernel - it runs fine. If I boot the xen kernel
- it boots - but has no network connectivity - and I get the following
errors continuously in the messages log:
Time/date: C5 Kernel: vif0.0: received packet

Another Uploading Printer drivers problem.
Hi. I have been following another thread describing problems uploading
printer drives - but I think I have a different problem.
In my case I have a Samsung CLP510 colour laser physically connected to
a Centos 5.1 X86-64 Linux box with Samba 3.0251514 (3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4

Nut problems with Centos and Belkin UPS
Hi Arjen
My apologies fro drifting off topic in the other mailing list...:-)
On the bottom of the Belkin UPS unit - is the model number: F6C120auUNV
The "au" is for Australia I think.
"man belkinunv" states that F6C120-UNV is supported - and I assumed that
the "au" would not prevent this.
I plugged in the USB to gather the information you requested. My
