[PATCH v4 0/3] mm, treewide: Rename kzfree() to kfree_sensitive()
...rnel.org/lkml/573b3fbd5927c643920e1364230c296b23e7584d.camel at perches.com/ > > Are there _any_ fastpath uses of kfree or vfree? I'd consider kfree performance critical for cases where it is called under locks. If possible the kfree is moved outside of the critical section, but we have rbtrees or lists that get deleted under locks and restructuring the code to do eg. splice and free it outside of the lock is not always possible.

[PATCH v2 0/4] New getprogname module
Hi, as discussed in [1], this series adds a new getprogname module. All it does is providing a getprogname function, much like what is found on e.g. *BSD systems, and using it in gnulib instead of progname. Also, using it explicitly by modules avoids gnulib users the need of either use the progname module (GPL), or to provide program_name (and call set_program_name manually, which is not always

Large number of HTB classes
I am planning a setup with thousands of classes in a HTB qdisc, say from 1:1000 to 1:2000, each with a very small rate and a big ceil, for fair sharing of a 45mbit link. I suspect some problems could be lurking in there. Anyone having good/bad experience with such number of classes? Poor creat/delete files performance
Hi, We did some performance test and found the create/delete files performance of btrfs is very poor. The test is that we create 50000 files and measure the file-create time first, and then delete these 50000 files and measure the file-delete time. (The attached file is the reproduce program) The result is following: (Unit: second) Create file performance BtrFS Ext4 Total times:
