bootable floppy image question
...initrd=/bootdisk/image.img floppy
(lines in isolinux.cfg file)
Sometimes I pass memdisk the c/h/s parameters, depending on the image
size. I have learned from this mailing list how to create different,
non-standard sized images. Everything works fine while I use the floppy
images created with rawwrite or dd directly off a floppy, and then
eventually resized with mkdosfs. But I've come to the point where I can
find no solution.
To be specific, I would like to use windows xp pe bootable cd like an
image. Anyway, it doesn't neccessarily have to be winxp pe, it could, for
example, be an...

Booting disk images with syslinux?
Is it possable to boot a diskimage with syslinux?
So often I run into bios upgrade disks images or can
easily create a disk image and would like an easy way
to just boot these images.
I know isolinux does this and I vagely remember using
it to make a bootable windows 95 cd back in the day.
It worked to.
It would be nice if I could just copy the disk image
to a usbstick and use syslinux to boot

Install gptmbr with Windows
Does anyone know how to install the gptmbr.bin onto a USB drive with
Windows? I noticed that it would be really easy to modify the source of the
installer to install gptmbr.bin instead of mbr.bin with the -m flag, but
I'd like a solution that doesn't require me to maintain my own custom
syslinux. I'm open to writing and submitting a patch to add a new flag (say
-g) to install

I sometimes use "rawwrite dd for windows version 0.3" by John Newbigin
as well as "mirkes.de Tiny Hexer 1.8.1.6 small edition" by Markus
Stephany. Using "dd --list" is educational in the former. Using "File >
Disk > Open drive..." is educational in the latter. - Shao

I don't have easy access to Linux or spare computers, so I used my
