...oon as I choose it.
Then I get a screen saying "Do you wish to load more Driver Disks?"
I can see in the logging that it can't find the driver it also gives a
"Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev fd0".
I have dd'ed the image ... it is a ext2 Filesystem and used RAWRITE.
Is there more that I can try ?
Any Suggestions ?
Thanks

feature request: gzip support in syslinux itself
...39;d) and maybe Smart Boot Manager (gzip'd COM32 binary instead of normal COM32 binary?).
I'm using both on a simple bootdisk, and all space savings are welcome.
a workaround could ofcourse be to write each of them to a diskette, then read in the diskette (RAREAD, DISKCOPY, Linux dd, maybe RAWRITE), compress the imagefile, then load it using Memdisk which has (g)zip decompression support.
other possibility would be to create an intermediate loader (let's call it 'ungzip') which would decompress the GZ and then let the decompressed binary ('kernel') take control. Similar...

Booting disk images with syslinux?
Is it possable to boot a diskimage with syslinux?
So often I run into bios upgrade disks images or can
easily create a disk image and would like an easy way
to just boot these images.
I know isolinux does this and I vagely remember using
it to make a bootable windows 95 cd back in the day.
It worked to.
It would be nice if I could just copy the disk image
to a usbstick and use syslinux to boot

What I don't get is why do you have to rebuild the boot loader in the
first place. Most of these isos (including the Tails one) are hybrid which
should work if you just dd/rawrite it on the USB drive. Rufus seems to do
something much more complicated than this, risking breaking the boot
loader of the iso while rebuilding it. If the iso already supports booting
from USB no rebuilding should be needed, if it does not changing it
automatically for something it was not inte...

isolinux: Extremely broken BIOS detected
...SOLINUX so I don't have to build custom CD's for those times
the install may or may not fail?
Will warnings about certain system BIOSes be posted at
syslinux.zytor.com/iso.php?
Will a help page be added to zytor.com that shows users how to create
floppy boot disks now that the images and rawrite are no longer included
on the latest LINUX distributions?
Does isolinux default with the message, "Extremely Broken BIOS
Detected" when the sense commands bring back an answer the probe
doesn't understand?
Or, does the isolinux probe automatically post this error if the BIOS
is n...

Smart Boot Manager question
Hi:
Thank you very much for creating this very useful program.
I downloaded the DOS version because there was a suggestion in th isolinux website.
I was not able to detect the cd-rom on my pentium II computer with Award BIOS 4.51 v 1.10.
I tried to set the IDE i/o address but I am not sure where to get the i/o address information.
I used the i/o address in the Win98 device manager IDE

help - I think partition magic just clobbered me.
...magic. appears.
First question, can someone confirm that this error
is in fact caused by whatever partition magic did ?
Second question, can it be fixed ? I have read the page
on GPart and it appears you have to be able to boot
linux in order to use it. are their any repair
utilities that I can rawrite to a floppy and boot
with that handle ext3 ?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
Tom

1. As you know, many ISOs aren't ISOHybrids.
2. Regardless, Rufus is smart enough to detect ISOHybrids and prompt the
user if they want to write in DD mode, or extract the files to FAT32 and
make the drive bootable with the process I described. So it's not like
it...

Why not install instead an arbitrary version of Syslinux and replace all
.c32 files with the modules of the installed version?

syslinux booting problem with 3Com PXE server
I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the RedHat Linux network boot disk for
an ftp install. I have done this for RedHat 7.2 and 7.3. I followed
the same procedure I used for the other RedHat boot disks using the
RedHat 8.0 boot disk and syslinux didn't work. Syslinux boots the
system, gets the boot: prompt and dies. The error message is can not
find ramdisk image and then cannot find
