R File IO Slow?
...there any way
to speed this up?
The one idea I have is having R call a C or Perl
routine, reading the file in that language, converting
the data in to R objects, then sending them back into
R. This is more work that I want to do, however, in
loading Rdata files.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

How do I overlay two trellis plots of lme fitted lines produced by plot.augPred?
...lis plot. I thought I could do this with par(new=T) but it does not
seem to work. trellis.par.set() does not have a component called "new"
so I cannot use that to imitate what I would do with par.
Does anyone know how to overlay two or more plots produced by plot.augPred?
Thank you!

stem() bug?
...f I subtract 1 from x, I get a correct answer. If I add 1 to x, I
still get a wrong answer. If I add 10 to x, I get a correct answer. I'm not
sure what to make of this, other than to think it is a bug.
Can anyone tell me if this is a bug?
I am running R 1.9.1 on Windows XP (SP2).

bilinear and non linear
Dear all,
there are R packages able to simulate or estimate bilinear model for time
series?
I know it is an open problem, but do exist something for very simplified
bilinear models?
Alternatively, what kinfd of non linear time series models are performed
in R?
If R is not able, could someone suggest me for some commercial softwares
to deal with bilinear models?
i'm afraid of a negative

New problem
...trol word from 8001f to 9001f"
The second problem is how to define my matrix in the function call of R so that C take it as an input, knowing that for C this matrix is dfine as: "int M[dimrow][dimcol]" and for R is define as.matrix(m),
it really hurts interfacing with R
Thx a lot

You might read the book "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" for more detail about this perspective, but this line of discussion is not really on topic here.

Is there a way to solve this problem ?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
