real time search results
I am new to ruby and rails and am unsure how to accomplish the following: I''d like to have a page where the user enters a value in a form field and have results stream into a results div on the page. Additionally, I want to: - Not limit the result set - Allow user to get immediate feedback on what they have entered - Allow user to change field contents as results are appearing - Have

form_remote_tag and tables
Hi, I was following the tutorial at http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/ 2005/06/09/rails_ajax.html and I''ve stumbled on a problem. Instead of using a <ul> tag like the tutorial for the list, I tried using a <table> tag. The problem I''m seeing is that the new item is rendered on top of the first item. The existing items are not shifted down as in the &lt...

FF1.0 + Prototype Ajax not working in 0.3.13.x
Hi guys, I have a funny problem that only occurs in FF1.0.x but works fine and dandy in FF1.5. I''d thought its me screwing up with the JS... but even this " What time is it <http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/06/09/rails_ajax.html>" doesn''t work with until I downgrade to Mongrel 0.3.12.4. I don''t like/use FF1.0 too.. but too bad for me <http://www.ubuntu.com/>... Apparently stuff like Rails'' link_to_remote or plain new Ajax.requestdoesn''t work when running with Mongrel...

AJAX Support and Rails
Hello there, This is my first post to the Ruby group. I am also new to the language and the Rails framework, it is an amazing place to be now. Coming from a PHP/ASP background I am glad something like Rails finally made it into web development. Now to my question. I have been readying a lot about AJAX, and I wondered what kind of support is built-in into Rails for it. I read somewhere that

I need more bling!
Hello everyone, I just showed a friend a prototype of a site offering a service I''m trying to sell (sorry, not on the Internet yet - he saw it at my house). His comment: "Looks like it does everything, but also looks pretty ugly. You''re not going to wow anybody with that". Sitting back and thinking about it, he''s dead right - it needs some bling to make it
