someone wake me up...
and tell me that it is possible to make icecast broadcast titles or id3 tags. I refuse to believe that you all can talk so fondly of a program that gives you the ability to make a radiostation but not tell its listeners what is on the air.. That is just too weird.. So what do YOU do to tell people what they are listening to? Arvid www.playrec.dk -for all kinds of good music ICQ# 724069 ---

I have a odd question...
Hi all. I am going to do a simple "voting application" for a radiostation. The idea is to have listeners call in to vote on songs. What I want to do is to take a phonenumer for each song and present the result on a simple webpage. Eg. To vote on song number one, call 555-1111 To vote on song number two, call 555-2222 etc etc. When the listener calls in, a playback tells him:

Radio Station
List, Time and time again I am sure you get this question. I am trying to setup a radiostation, and here is what I am looking for: 1. Ability for people to "call in" with say, winamp+oddcast or simplecast. 2. Ability to change password for the caller at any time. I know by default that Icecast2 does not allow the sharing of mounts, so what about setting up the following: 1. /radio

question on Icecast & licenses
Hello. Did anyone who launched Icecast server for his own radiostation acquired any licenses for playing music from artists or labels (sound recording companies)? Or you just pay royalties? For ex., if you play some track of F.Goya, do you get some licenses from him on his track or his label? Thanks Konstantin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Benefits of SSL?
I have started my radiostation on http. I have spread the word about the radio with a http-link. Now I (think I) have learned how to use my letsencrypt certificate, but if I change now, I will break a lot of links. What I have done now is to redirect the https-links on my server to https, so you can use both http and https in front of the url to the stream. That means you CAN access it via http.

Mount failed - icecast2 with ices
Ok so I finally realized that you need icecast2 for ogg streaming to work and got the latest version of ices-0.2 installed. I am now unable to ever stream a friggin mp3 never mind an ogg file. The server is up (icecast2) and I see it in the web browser, when I try to run ices-0.2 I get the following errror. I am running ices-0.2 as root and icecast2 as richard (might that be the problemo?) Benefits of SSL?
Hi Thomas, Why not offer both? SSL is important so as not to be penalized by search engines that nowadays expect it on any website, more so when you have a form asking for sensitive information, as it encrypts the communication between browser and server. Having said that, there is no reason for you not to offer both https:// and http://, all you need to do is using different ports. For

[PATCH] auth_hash module
Hi all. Here is my first patch for icecast: auth_hash.diff - this patch created to generate unique URL's that gives access to listeners. It also privides GeoIP checking for radiostations, that have some restrictions to audience from other counties. Here is sample config: <mount> <mount-name>/live</mount-name> <authentication type="hash"> <!-- secret word to be md5'ed --> <option nam...
