R 2.6 Support Question
...d Internet Explorer 8. My question is if the R 2.6 software would be supported on a system running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8? Also, are you aware of any customers having issues with Windows 7 and/or Internet Explorer 8?
Thank you for your time and any information you can provide.

RedHat forks OpenSSH?
It has just come to my notice that Redhat is planning to ship a
forked version of OpenSSH. The change goes beyond the usual
patches applied to RPMs in the build process: Redhat have built
their own OpenSSH tarball and are using that in their source RPM
instead of the official release distribution. If you are
interested, have a look at the openssh-3.9p1-7.src.rpm from the

Problem with ices on OpenBSD 2.9 w/ Icecast 1.3.10
...o give you much more than you ask for so it doesn't get
noticed. This will be in 0.2.1 to be released shortly.
That handles the segfault, I don't know why the stream wouldn't be
sent fast enough though...
Of course ices hasn't had a proper security audit. Please check with
Theo de Raadt before running it. :)

Patch for OpenSSH/mmap() on Linux 2.2
A colleague was having trouble running OpenSSH 3.3p on his server.
He, like many of us, has been clobbered by the mighty security penis
of Theo De Raadt into enabling "privsep".
But on some Linux 2.2 kernels, this is broken. Apparantly, OpenSSH "portable"
relies on non-POSIX compliant mmap() features.
Making the mmap() call in monitor_mm.c look something like this:
{
char template[40], c = 0;
int fd;...

SOCKS support
Just a warning and a call to action:
Theo de Raadt has convinced me to remove SOCKS support from our port
of OpenSSH.
His argument is that it can be easily and generically implemented as
a ProxyCommand. This fits with my desire to keep our divergences from
the OpenBSD codebase to a minimum.
This looks like a few hours work (for someone more famil...

[patch] ssh-keygen(1): generate Ed25519 keys when invoked without arguments
...o suggest ssh-keygen to generate an
Ed25519 keypair, if invoked without any arguments.
OpenSSH has supported Ed25519 since version 6.5 (January 2014).
The newly published FIPS 186-5 (February 2023) guidelines approve
the EdDSA algorithms specified in IETF RFC 8032 (January 2017).
At p2k23 Theo de Raadt suggested now (before OpenBSD 7.4 release) is
good timing to consider this change. Is there a reason not to do this?
OK?
Kind regards,
Job
