ubuntu configuration problem "Couldnt get a file descriptior referring to the console"
Greetings to everybody in r-sig-debian land.
I hope I have found the right place to ask this. If not, please refer me on...
I run R 2.9 on Ubuntu 9.04. I believe many people have seen this
problem, but because the error message is hard to understand, they
have not traced it back to the R install in the distribution. I think
it ought to be fixed in the R packaging process, but I do not know if

PgUp/PgDn now behave better, thanks to a patch from Ei-ji Nakama.
o R CMD check looked at the environment variable PDFLATEX, but
as from R 2.8.1 R CMD Rd2dvi used R_PDFLATEXCMD in
preference, and that was set by R CMD (and not PDFLATEX). Now
R CMD check looks at R_PDFLATEXCMD.
o sprintf() now signals an error when the result of single format
specification would be longer than the limit (8192 bytes); it would
return "somewhat ra...

Error building package: LaTeX error when creating PDF version
Hi all
I am trying to build an R package, which I have successfully done many times before, but have an error I cannot trace. I hope someone can help me.
