Since others might find a use for it too, I have uploaded the rpm (and it's corresponding source) at http://wolfy.fedorapeople.org/dkms-r8168/. ...TL8111C NIC on-board. After PXE booting into the 5.2 installer, the installer hung while waiting for DHCP information. Checking the various consoles, it's clear that the installer identified the NIC and loaded the r8169 driver. But the driver obviously failed. After copying in Realtek's r8168-8.006.00 and manually installing it on the existing 5.1 installation, the NIC works fine. So the wiki pages need to be updated. Any ideas how to proceed? I am trying to transport a dd image between to hosts over a cross linked gigabit connection. Both hosts have an eth1 configured to a non routable ip addr on a shared network. No other devices exist on this link. When transferring via sftp I received a stall warning. In the El/Centos line of distros I've seen a lot of issues caused by using the r8169 driver on RTL8111/8168/8411 cards including things like DNS failures and network slowdowns and other more exotic issues. The card performs better (in EL/Centos) with the r8168 driver which does not come built into the kernel, unless Ubuntu has unified the two drivers under the r8169 banner. Hi, I have a really strange problem with a driver disk (http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8111b) on amd64. I'm remotly booting the system via isolinux-files, so I unfortunatly do not have access to relevant logs, all I can see the the primary console/screen. With i386, the driver disk works just fine and I can install via http. But with amd64, the installer complains no driver
