CentOS 7, 327 kernel still crashing
I've just added the following to the CentOS bugtracker for CentOS-7 0009860. I admit to not being sure if it's the same issue, or a separate one, but this and other Dell servers - I *think* they're all R420's, but I could be wrong, just all do the same thing on boot. ***************** I've just updated a CentOS 7 server to the latest kernel, vmlinuz-3.10.0-327.4.5.el7.x86_64, and the server fails to boot. It has failed on every 327 kernel. Server: Dell R420, 2 Xeons, 124G RAM. >From the r...

CentOS 7, Xeon CPUs, not booting
This is happening on anything other than plain vanilla Dell servers. One R730, with dual Tesla cards, one R420, with a fibre card for a RAID device, it never switches root. All these systems have Xeons, not AMD CPUs. We've had this with every one of the 327 kernels. In addition, it seems to happen also with the 229.20.1; the 229.14.1 has no such problem. >From the rdsosreport: starting at line 126:...

SAMBA running sluggish for Windows XP clients
...ault now so I added IPTOS_LOWDELAY and SO_KEEPALIVE. I've verified that my loglevel is set to 1 since 2 seems to cause a performance hit. It shouldn't be a hardware issue since our switches are GB ports and there is only about 10-20 client connections at a time. The server itself is a Dell R420 with two 3.2GHz CPUs and 16GB of RAM. The SAMBA shares are located on a Dell SAN that is connected using iSCSI to the RHEL server. The file system that is being used is GFS2 and it is in a clustered (two nodes) environment. Like I stated above our Windows XP clients had no issues at all connection...

Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720 in the 9.1 beta
Team I have a Dell PowerEdge R720xd, with the Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720. I found the following thread: http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=31769 I find I am unable to use the NIC's (there are 4 on the server). When we put a cable into it we get a "watchdog timeout -- resetting" error, and the machine will pause for 5 or so seconds. IP may or may not come up randomly.

[RFC] Remove AGP support from Radeon/Nouveau/TTM
Hi guys, Well let's face it AGP is a total headache to maintain and dead for at least 10+ years. We have a lot of x86 specific stuff in the architecture independent graphics memory management to get the caching right, abusing the DMA API on multiple occasions, need to distinct between AGP and driver specific page tables etc etc... So the idea here is to just go ahead and remove the support

gspca and motion
...ssages, gspca: bandwidth not wide enough - trying again And they worked fine before. Anyone else seeing this, or have some thoughts on how I can attack the problem? The most recent post with this error I can find is from '10, and isn't really relevant. Oh, and at least one's on a Dell R420, I think, while another's on an old Penguin, an Altus 1300, I think, so it's not specific to one set of hardware. mark

multipath
I have inherited a system set up with multipath, which is not something I have seen before so I could use some advice The system is a Dell R420 with 2 LSI SAS2008 HBAs, 4 internal disks, and a MD3200 storage array attached via SAS cables. Oh and CentOS 6 lsblk shows the following: NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT sdd 8:48 0 931.5G 0 disk ??sdd1 8:49 0 931.5G 0 part ??mpathi (...

[LLVMdev] Does current LLVM target-independent code generator supports my strange chip?
This is similar to ATI's R300/R420 pixel shaders. I'm familiar with this hardware, but not really an LLVM expert (working on a code generator myself, but learning as I go). Do you have 24-bit integer operations, or just floating point? What about load/store? Are you looking to run large C programs with complex data struct...
